Patents Assigned to Siemens Aktiengesellschaft, Munich
  • Patent number: 7473913
Abstract: The invention relates to a gantry system for a particle therapy facility, having a beam guidance gantry which has elements for beam guidance, and having a measurement gantry which has a device for beam monitoring. The measurement gantry and beam guidance gantry are thus of a mutually independent design and are, in particular, arranged in a mutually concentric manner. A gantry system of this kind is inter alia less susceptible to mechanical deviations during rotation of the beam guidance gantry.

  • Patent number: 6891373
Abstract: In a magnetic resonance apparatus and method to acquire a diffusion-weighted image in diffusion-weighted MRT imaging, a non-diffusion-weighted data set and a diffusion-weighted data set are measured and stored by means of a DESS sequence (Double Echo Steady State Sequence), with two readout gradients being switched successively for the non-diffusion-weighted data set, and a bipolar diffusion gradient pulse sequence being switched between two readout gradients for the diffusion-weighted data set. A diffusion-weighted MRT image is calculated is calculated based on the non-diffusion-weighted data set and the diffusion-weighted data set, as well as on the basis of a value characterizing the diffusion-weighted measurement.

  • Publication number: 20040114594
Abstract: A method sets up a fax connection between a calling first fax machine controlled by a first communication facility and a called second fax machine controlled by a second communication facility over a packet-oriented network linking the communication facilities. With this method, sent data of the first or second fax machine is terminated at a first data gateway belonging to the first communication facility or at a second data gateway belonging to second communication facility. Following setup of a useful data connection between the first and second data gateway, a transmission-controlling connection is set up between the first fax machine and the first data gateway. Identification information of the sending first fax machine is then transmitted from the first data gateway to the second data gateway. A transmission-controlling connection is then set up between the second fax machine and the second data gateway.

  • Publication number: 20030212328
Abstract: In a method for local reduction of the operating noise produced by a medical diagnostic or therapy device, antisound is produced locally by a sound source. The sound source used is a highly directional parametric loudspeaker. As a result, disturbing operating noises can be limited locally and suppressed effectively.

  • Publication number: 20020089999
Abstract: A method for double-ended line qualification and monitoring of xDSL links employs a single test program which is sent by a first subscriber at one end of the xDSL link to a second subscriber at the other end of the xDSL link. Line qualification and/or monitoring is carried out by processing this test program and sending the test results obtained in this step back to the first subscriber. The line qualification and/or monitoring is triggered after the code of the test program has been transmitted by the first subscriber. In this method, the first subscriber represents a modem at the switching end and the second subscriber represents a modem at the subscriber end. The test program is a program module which is connected to other program modules via a message queue.
