Abstract: A transmission request for a compressible datafile is transmitted to a server from a client. The server transmits the compressible datafile or a corresponding, compressed compact datafile to the client dependent on whether the client also provided it with a compress command. The client receives the transmitted datafile and checks which of the two datafiles has been transmitted to it. When the compact datafile has been transmitted, then the client automatically decompresses it.
Abstract: To monitor the quality of service in a packet-oriented network, measurement data on the quality of service of a connection is collected by an endpoint of the connection within a given time interval. The measurement data is then sent for subsequent processing to a registration unit specifically responsible for connections with the endpoint.
Abstract: A remote-readable identification tag (T) that is provided with at least two resonance circuits (81 . . . 8n) and at least one transmitter/receiver antenna system (1) coupled with the circuits. The at least two circuits have a respectively different resonant frequency. A delay device (6) of the remote-readable identification tag delays a signal response between a signal received by the antenna system and a signal emitted in response by the antenna system, e.g., by delaying feeding the received signal into the resonance circuits.

Abstract: In a method and a system for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, an MR exposure of a body region is implemented with an MR system, a trajectory within the body region is prescribed in a coordinate system of the MR system on the basis of the MR exposure, and MR tomograms within the body region at individual positions along the trajectory are automatically angled relative to the patient or magnet coordinate system dependent on a perspective pre-selected by an operator. This angling is calculated from the trajectory at the individual positions in the prescribed perspective such that a maximum segment of the trajectory is contained in each of the MR tomograms. The racking of objects in body canals or vessels by means of MR imaging is considerably simplified with the method and the appertaining system.
Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a CTI communications system in the 3rd party configuration, employs a communications system having a plurality of terminals which, for a communication connection between two or more terminals, generates a call which comprises prescribed information about the connection, a TSP and a plurality of clients which are connected to the TSP and communicate with the TSP via a CTI interface. For the purpose of transmitting files or logging data between the clients, the invention proposes transmitting the data for transmission from one of the clients to the TSP via the CTI interface and writing them to a prescribed memory area for the call. These data can be read by the other clients associated with the call, likewise via the CTI interface.

Abstract: During the determination of the timing advance (TA), the data is transmitted from the first station (MS) without the timing advance in the form of short radio blocks (B1). After determining the timing advance (TA), the data (D), while taking the timing advance into account, is transmitted from the first station (MS) in the form of long radio blocks (B2) which are longer than the short radio blocks (B1). Both the short radio blocks (B1) as well as the long radio blocks (B2) are transmitted from the first station (MS) in the same channel allocated to the connection.

Abstract: A method for producing organic electroluminescent components having a structured electrode, in particular displays having a structured metal electrode, includes the following steps: At least two layers are applied onto a bottom electrode which is located on a substrate. The first layer is electrically insulating and is not damaged when the second layer is applied. A defined boundary remains between the two layers. The first layer has a higher solubility rate in a liquid developer than the second layer and it is possible to structure the second layer. The second layer is structured and the structure is transferred to the first layer. At least one organic functional layer is applied onto the second layer. A top electrode is deposited onto the organic functional layer.

Abstract: ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4) of a communication network that is designed according to ATM can be inventively allocated to a ring network structure, whereby a ring network address (EA,GA) is respectively assigned to these ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4), and the ring network access and the ring network communication are controlled in a ring-network-specific manner. On the basis of the imaging, into the virtual channel identification (VCI) of ATM cells, of a ring network address (EA,GA) identifying one or more ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4), an emulated ring network structure (LAN emulation) is realized easily.
Abstract: A method for modeling a paper winding device, particularly for modeling a tambour drum cutter. Influencing and control quantities are determined at a real paper winding device and are stored dependent on time. Said quantities are used to determine the web strength depending on the wound number of layers or, respectively, or a correlative quantity is used as a target quantity along with the other relevant control and influencing quantities to enable a neural network to be trained as a model for a nip (Ni) for this winding device. New data for training the network can be continually obtained during the operation of the arrangement, thereby improving the model. Optimal control parameters can be determined for various production requirements by means of an iterative process dependent on the winding quality, which can also be determined from the web strength.

Abstract: In a method for controlling an occupant protection device in a vehicle and a control device therefor, a crash sensor supplies a crash signal. A crash variable derived from the crash signal is compared with a threshold, the occupant protection device is controlled as a function of the overshooting of the threshold by the crash variable. The threshold includes at least one term which, depending on the configuration of the crash signal, supplies a contribution which raises the threshold or a contribution which lowers the threshold.
Abstract: The invention is directed to an optical fiber amplifier having a switchable or interchangeable fiber module for varying the effective length of an amplification fiber. An optical fiber amplifier for wavelength-division multiplex (WDM) signals comprises an interchangeable fiber module (FM) in the basic amplifier module (VM) for matching the gain to different input levels for optimum noise behavior. The change in amplification is based on the variation of the length of the amplification fibers (EDF1, EDF2).
Abstract: A power station is formed of a plurality of mobile modules. One of the mobile modules is a connecting module which has only connecting lines, control equipment, cut-off equipment and measuring equipment installed therein. The connection module can be used for different power stations, which allows a cost-effective construction of power stations. Further, fittings which have to be monitored and operated are concentrated in the connecting module, which reduces operating costs of the power station.

Abstract: In a rotating electrical machine having a permanent-magnet rotor, the tubular, highly thermally conductive supporting body of the stator forms a thermal bridge to a cooling means. In order to allow the end windings of the stator windings to be cooled effectively as well, the end windings also each have an associated thermal bridge, which completely fills the space between the end windings and the supporting body of the stator. This thermal bridge is of solid construction having a solid ring, which is connected to the supporting body of the stator with a force fit, and a cast-resin body which is cast into this solid ring. The cast-resin body has a thermal conductivity of more than 1.6 W/mK and, for this purpose, contains a powdery, highly thermally conductive filler making up a proportion of 50 to 90% by weight, preferably an aluminum nitride coated with silicon dioxide.

Abstract: To control the change, necessitated by the transmission of system information in the local information transmission loop, from a telecommunication channel—e.g. the Cf channel defined in the DECT standard—to a telecommunication channel—e.g. the Cs channel defined in the DECT standard, in a telecommunication subsystem which is tied into a telecommunication system as local information transmission loop—particularly a DECT-specific RLL/WLL subsystem tied into an ISDN system, the changing of channels is preferably initiated and performed by a time-limited interruption of the transmission of information in the telecommunication subsystem and subsequent resumption of the transmission of information.
Abstract: A process for operating a PEM fuel cell installation includes providing at least one PEM fuel cell module having an inlet valve for hydrogen H2 and an inlet valve for oxygen O2. In order to switch off the PEM fuel cell module, the oxygen O2 inlet valve is closed in a first step, and the hydrogen H2 inlet valve is closed in a second step when a predetermined oxygen O2 partial pressure at a cathode part of the PEM fuel cell module is reached. Reliable operation of the PEM fuel cell installation is guaranteed by this measure.
