  • Patent number: 8190685
Abstract: In order to monitor an application (AP1, AP2, AP3) in a packet-switching network (NW), the state of the application (AP1, AP2, AP3) is recorded by means of a monitoring instant (MC) and is transmitted to a Presence Application (PA) which displays and/or further processes the state. For this purpose, the application (AP1, AP2, AP3) is registered by means of the monitoring instant (MC) as a first communication partner in a list of communication partners which can be accessed in the network, and the Presence Application (PA) is registered in the list as a second communication partner which monitors the first communication partner. The state and/or state changes of the application (AP1, AP2, AP3) is or are transmitted to the Presence Application (PA) as a characteristic which is associated with the first communication partner, or as a message which is transmitted from the first communication partner, with the monitoring being carried out on the basis of the characteristic or of the message.

  • Patent number: 8189044
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for the optical inspection of a matt surface of an object, the surface having a random texture, for example a tile (11) to find cracks (12), in a first step digital images of the surface are created by an image sensor (K) whereby the surface is illuminated from different directions by light sources (B). In a second step sub-images of the regions of interest are created from the images. In a third step the cracks are detected in the sub-images by digital image processing, generating abnormality sub-charts showing the putative cracks. In a fourth step for each region of interest a joint abnormality chart is generated by fusion of the sub-charts and in a fifth step the cracks are detected in each of the joint abnormality charts of each region of interest.

Abstract: A method for sensing input signal changes at an input of an input/output module operated in an automation system in which a signal is sampled by an input/output module. A change event and a timestamp associated with the change event are generated when a change in the sampled signal occurs and a value pair comprising the change event and the timestamp is stored in a higher-ranking automation component to the input/output module. The input/output module and the higher-ranking automation component are operated clock-synchronously with respect to one another by a clock pulse, and the timestamp is calculated centrally on the higher-ranking automation component based on the clock-synchronous operation.

Abstract: A power switch includes switch contacts that are opened via a switch shaft, which, when the switch is triggered, is actuated by way of the trigger slider of a trigger unit, in particular a working current trigger unit. The trigger slider moves the switch shaft by way of the trigger shaft of a switch latch, the trigger unit including electric coil into which an armature extends that is drawn into the coil by electromagnetic forces of attraction when the switch is triggered. A stationary counter armature is disposed in the coil, which counter armature serves as a stop for the armature, so as to increase the forces of attraction. • Patent number: 8183816
Abstract: In a method for field-oriented operation to zero speed of an encoder-less asynchronous machine, wherein the associated field-oriented regulation device has a monitor with a machine model and rotation-speed adaptation, a model flux and a model current are calculated from a calculated actuating voltage and an adapted rotation speed, from which, in conjunction with a determined machine current, a complex difference is calculated. Also calculated is a model slip rotation speed as a function of the model flux and the model current, which is then scaled. The adapted rotation speed is then superimposed, and the sum is used as the rotation speed actual value which supplied to a rotation-speed regulator. An asynchronous machine without an encoder can therefore be operated to zero speed on a field-oriented basis.
