Patent number: 9721118Abstract: A method, a system, a registry, a repository and a computer program product are disclosed for securely accessing sensitive medical data records stored in a repository. Before accessing security-critical data in the repository, a registration inquiry with a separate registry must be carried out in order to obtain a security token having limited temporary validity, for example in the form of a barcode. A data source and/or a data sink can then use the security token to access the security-critical data in that an index module indexes the data record inquired about on the repository.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2012Date of Patent: August 1, 2017Assignee: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHATInventors: Georg Heidenreich, Wolfgang Leetz

Publication number: 20140226890Abstract: A simple method to denoise ratio images in magnetic resonance imaging, includes generating a MRI sequence provided for acquiring data from an object to be imaged, wherein the MRI sequence is configured for generating at least two different standard images, respectively a first standard image and a second standard image, acquiring the two different standard images, and combining the two different standard images in a ratio image. The ratio image is obtained by calculating a ratio of the first standard image and the second standard image that is tunable by a parameter ? wherein the parameter ? is automatically chosen for maximizing the negentropy of the ratio image.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2014Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicants: ECOLE POLYTECHNIQUE FEDERALE DE LAUSANNE, SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHATInventors: KIERAN O'BRIEN, ALEXIS ROCHE

Publication number: 20130248324Abstract: A transport device transports articles by using a plurality of holding devices, in particular flat mail items in storage pockets. The transport device transports the holding devices along a guide device. The guide device contains a first rotary section and a following second rotary section. A holding device is rotated around a first axis of rotation during transportation along the first rotary section, and is rotated around a second axis of rotation during transportation along the second rotary section. Both axes of rotation stand perpendicularly with respect to the current transportation direction in which a holding device is transported, and are not parallel to each other, but stand e.g. perpendicularly on each other. An article can be placed into a space which is enclosed by at least two delimiting elements of the holding device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2013Publication date: September 26, 2013Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschatInventor: PETER BERDELLE-HILGE

Patent number: 7729525Abstract: 2-D projection images show the temporal course of the distribution of a contrast medium in an examination object containing a vascular system and the surroundings thereof. Each projection image has pixels with pixel values defined by the same areas of the examination object. A computer determines a 2-D evaluation image having pixels corresponding to those of the projection images and assigns each pixel in a sub-area to one of three types, vessel, perfused part of the surroundings or non-perfused part of the surroundings. The computer assigns an extent of a perfusion in the pixels of the evaluation image assigned the type of perfused part of the surroundings to the respective pixel. The type and extend are determined from the temporal course of the pixel values of the pixels of the projection image which is in a two-dimensional evaluation core defined by a respective pixel of the evaluation image.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2006Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschatInventors: Estelle Camus, Thomas Redel

Patent number: 5526815Abstract: A therapy apparatus for locating and treating a zone situated in the body of a subject life form with ultrasound includes an ultrasound transducer which can be optionally operated in a therapy mode or a locating mode, and which generates therapeutic ultrasound waves having a first frequency focused onto a zone of action in the therapy mode and generates diagnostic ultrasound having a second frequency in the locating mode. The ultrasound transducer also receives portions of the diagnostic ultrasound reflected in the body of the subject in the locating mode and converts them into electrical signals that are supplied to an evaluation electronics which provides image information about the zone to be treated.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1993Date of Patent: June 18, 1996Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschatInventors: Bernd Granz, Ulrich Schaetzle

Patent number: 4869483Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a patient during medical treatment has a patient bearing plate having an opening therein in which a medical treatment device can be inserted. The opening is entirely or partially closeable by two slide elements moveable independently of each other toward and away from each other. Each slide element is wrapped by a continuous belt, and each belt is attached to one of two opposite edges which limit the opening in the bearing plate. As the slide element is moved, the continuous belt remains stationary, with the slide element moving within the loop formed by the belt.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschatInventor: Eugen Wiesmet

Patent number: 4840454Abstract: A light waveguide bundle is saturated with an adhering first filling compound and is then inserted into a cladding of an optical cable. The first filling compound is selected so that it guarantees the cohesion of the light waveguides forming the bundle and still allows individual light waveguides to be separated from the light waveguide bundle. The remianing space within the outer cladding is filled with a second filling compound, whose viscosity is significantly lower than the viscosity of the first filling compound used for the saturation of each of the light waveguide bundles.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1987Date of Patent: June 20, 1989Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschatInventor: Ernst Mayr
