Abstract: Conductive elements (104A-C) are positioned within a housing (100) of an electric device. The conductive elements (104A-C) are arranged such that in an event of an electric arc (106) occurring between the conductive elements (104A-C) an electromagnetic force is exerted upon plasma of the electric arc (106) such that the electric arc (106) is directed towards a wall (108) of the housing (100). Furthermore, a conductor configuration (102) includes conductors (104A, 104B, 104C) and sacrificial electrodes (118A-C) positioned within a housing (100) of an electric device, wherein the conductors (104A-C) are arranged such that in an event of an electric arc (106) occurring between the conductors (104A-C) an electromagnetic force is exerted upon plasma of the electric arc (105) such that the electric arc (106) is directed towards the sacrificial electrodes (118A-C).

  • Patent number: 9720108
Abstract: A method is described for correcting a captured macropixel signal of an X-ray detector including a plurality of pixels, combined to form at least one macropixel, to capture discrete signals. A weighted macropixel signal exhibiting improved signal stability but reduced dose efficiency is determined. A variable specifying the relative signal drift of the unweighted macropixel signal compared to the weighted macropixel signal is determined on the basis of the captured macropixel signal and the weighted macropixel signal. In addition, a relative signal drift filtered with respect to time is determined on the basis of the relative signal drift. Finally, a macropixel signal corrected by the time-filtered relative signal drift is determined. A signal capture device is disclosed. Furthermore, an X-ray detector is described which includes the signal capture device according to an embodiment of the invention. A computed tomography system is also described which includes the X-ray detector.

  • Patent number: 9218674
Abstract: Systems and methods construct a 2 dimensional (2D) gas concentration map (image) from data from one or more laser based absorption projection paths. Embodiments use a Bayesian approach to construct a 2D gas concentration map of a combustion region cross section plane by modeling the 2D map as a Gaussian Process (GP). The GP models the global correlation among all pixels in the 2D map. Data from one or more projection paths is propagated to all pixels in the map instead of just local pixels. The correlation among map pixels is used to propagate projection path data from map pixels traversed by a projection path to other map pixels.

  • Publication number: 20110148222
Abstract: A method determines a switching time of an electric switching device containing an interrupter path disposed between a first line section subjected to a driving voltage and a second line section that forms an oscillating circuit after the switching device undergoes a shut-off step. The method is used for determining the best possible switching time for an electrical switching device to minimize transient voltage surges. It is proposed that either—a temporal progression of a voltage that develops along the interrupter path is determined during a scanning period; or that—a temporal progression of a voltage that develops along the interrupter path is determined during the scanning time.

  • Patent number: 7812319
Abstract: A beam guiding magnet includes a first and second coil system, which are designed such that the dipole moments of the first and second coil systems point in opposite directions. Since the dipole moments of the first and second coil systems point in opposite directions, the two dipole moments at least partially compensate for one another. The resultant dipole moment of the beam guiding magnet may be reduced. The beam guiding magnet may take into account that the remote field of a beam guiding magnet can be lowered by a reduction in the dipole moment of the beam guiding magnet. The dipole moment decreases with the cube of the distance from the beam guiding magnet. A quadruple moment, which on attenuation of the dipole moment represents the next strongest field component, decreases with the fifth power of that distance.

Abstract: The enclosure of the stator of an electric machine for an integrated compressor drive should be improved. The structure is preferably made of a potting compound (5) in which additives for increasing the thermal conductivity are introduced. A film (6) serving as a chemical barrier is thus supported pressure-resistant in the outer area on the potting compound (5) and in the inner area on the lamination stack (3) of the stator (2). As a result, the need for complex pressure enclosures in the air-gap area can be eliminated.
