The temperature compensation (4) is designed in such a way that the sensitivity of the detector is not directly influenced by changes in the ambient temperature. Influencing of the sensitivity of the detector takes place with delay and/or as a function of the speed of the change in the ambient temperature.

The circuit includes a rectifier circuit operably connected the pair of lines wherein the rectifier circuit is comprised of at least two transistors for providing the circuit with a low-impedance path to ground and providing the circuit with a polarity insensitive output. Capacitors may be operably connected to the transistors in the rectifier circuit to keep the transistors turned on when a low voltage is applied to the rectifier circuit.

    Abstract: An operating mechanism for operating an actuating member is provided with an electric motor, a resetting spring and a centrifugal brake, wherein the actuating member can be operated in a first direction of movement by the electric motor activated by means of a control or regulating device, and in a second direction of movement by means of the resetting spring. In accordance with the invention, a brake body of the centrifugal brake is arranged on the rotor of the electric motor. The centrifugal brake arranged directly on the rotor can be configured such that a braking effect is generated only when the actuating member is operated by the resetting spring. When operated by the electric motor being switched on, on the other hand, the centrifugal brake has no braking effect. By means of the centrifugal brake, the speeds that can be reached are limited to the extent that no spurious vibrations and noises occur.

The manual call point also contains a device for triggering a test alarm comprising a switching lever (9) to displace the panel (4) until the pivoting lever (7) is released and comprises a member (10) to actuate the switching lever (9).

Each focusing element comprises a number of sub-elements, with the result that the surveillance regions are split up vertically into subzones having slightly different elevation. In a majority of the surveillance regions, the subzones overlap at most only slightly. Human being and animals are distinguished by the amplitude of the sensor signal which is proportional to the number of subzones interrupted by the object in the room under surveillance. The number of sub-elements and correspondingly the number of subzones increases with decreasing radial distance of the respective surveillance region from the detector.
