  • Patent number: 10468212
Abstract: An apparatus for an electrical switch that includes a rotor cam having a rotor interface, a handle interface, and a spring arm interface. The rotor interface includes a plurality of side interface features that couple the rotor cam to a rotor of the electrical switch so that rotation of the rotor cam causes rotation of the rotor. The handle interface allows coupling of the rotor cam to a handle, wherein the handle interface is sized so as to allow a predetermined amount of independent rotation of the handle relative to the rotor cam before further rotation of the handle causes rotation of the rotor cam. The spring arm interface couples a spring arm of the electrical switch to the rotor cam so that a bias spring of the spring arm biases the spring arm against the rotor cam. Numerous other embodiments are provided.

  • Patent number: 10458672
Abstract: Rather than complex modeling or time consuming repetitive measuring for optimizing an HVAC system, a slope or change in energy use as a function of a change in a variable (e.g., temperature or humidity) is used to adjust the variable. In an HVAC system, the temperature or humidity of supplied air from the AHU is set based on the derived slope. The energy usage to heat and/or cool supplied air at the terminal units is balanced with the energy usage to heat and/or cool the air to be supplied by the AHU. The slope of the total energy usage may be indicated by a sum of flow rates.

  • Patent number: 10386800
Abstract: Using information available from the controller or controllers of air-handling units, a remote server uses a heuristic model to determine settings for the air-handling units. Rather than just using rules for each air-handling unit, a model-based solution determines the settings. The model is used to optimize operation of the air distribution. In additional or alternative embodiments, measurements are gathered and used to derive analytics. The measurements may include data not otherwise used for rule-based control of the air handling unit. The analytics are used to predict needs, as inputs to the modeling, identify problems, and/or identify opportunities.

  • Patent number: 10381180
Abstract: An electric arc extinguishing apparatus for a molded case circuit breaker is provided. A first set of arc splitter plates (30) directs into a first flow channel (32) a flow of gases formed during an arcing event. A second set of arc splitter plates (40) directs into a second flow channel (42) a further flow of gases formed during the arcing event. A baffle (46) establishes flow channel separation between the first and second flow channels. This arrangement provides gas flow velocity that is relatively uniform throughout the arc stack and efficiently and reliably removes heat from the hot gas flow since every arc splitter plate effectively contributes to the cooling of the gas flow. Additionally, the electric arc is efficiently blown and distributed into each of the arc splitter plate gaps, resulting in higher arc voltage and improved arc extinguishing performance.
