Abstract: A system identifies, flags and tracks images and series of images previously accessed by a healthcare worker. A system for tracking medical image viewing by a user includes at least one repository storing data representing multiple medical images of a particular patient available for use in preparing a report. A viewing processor tracks whether an individual image of the multiple medical images has been presented on a display device by using predetermined rules in determining whether data representing the individual image has been communicated to the display device for display to a particular user associated with received user identification information. The viewing processor generates a viewed indicator associated with the individual image and the particular user in response to a determination data representing the individual display image has been communicated to the display device for display to the particular user.

Abstract: A healthcare administration system integrates the entry of an order for a medical service for a patient with the scheduling of an appointment for performing the service. The system incorporates receiving service order information for a medical service for a patient from a user; generating an order for the medical service based upon the service order information; and enabling the user to perform one or more tasks selected from the group consisting of (a) scheduling an appointment with a provider of the medical service, (b) storing the order information in a queued waitlist, and (c) automatically rescheduling the appointment based upon the queued waitlist.

Abstract: In an embodiment of the present inventions, a work flow process may be generated by decomposing functions of a clinical information system into discrete tasks including an individual task associated with a first pre-configured executable procedure for implementing the individual task and associating a user selectable image element with the pre-configured first executable procedure used in implementing the individual task. In a currently envisioned embodiment, integratable work flow processes according to the present invention may be provided to a vertical application system.

Abstract: A screen sharing function enables a main executable application, which typically uses more than one monitor, to switch to single-monitor usage as necessary to allow a user to directly interact with other applications that the main executable application invokes. A system including multiple display monitors for displaying multiple user interface image windows associated with corresponding multiple executable applications employs an image format determination system. The image format determination system includes an input processor for receiving command data representing a command to initiate execution of a function of a second application and display of an associated second image window in response to user entry of a command via a first image window associated with a first application.

Abstract: A system determines available system resources along with the complexity of video clips in order to initiate and adapt automatic video clip playback. A method automatically concurrently plays multiple video clips in at least one composite video image by automatically determining available processing resources based on a number of available processors and associated corresponding individual processor operational speed. The method involves automatically determining a number of video clips that may be concurrently played and displayed in a composite video image by the determined available processing resources based on a number of the multiple video clips and associated corresponding individual video clip compression type. The method also includes initiating concurrent play and display of the determined number of video clips in the composite video image.

Abstract: A dictionary system provides a term repository supporting the operation of an enterprise, which dynamically updates its content in response to system use. An input processor acquires transaction message data in at least one of a plurality of different data formats. A data processor parses the acquired transaction message data to extract a term from the message data. The processor then compares the extracted term to terms in a first term repository. The first term repository is updated to include the extracted term if the extracted term is absent from said first term repository. A communication processor intermittently processes the content of said first term repository to be suitable for communication to a second term repository.

Abstract: A system maintains statistics on DICOM interfaces that include for each interfaced Application Entity, the number, timing and types of DICOM failures, number and timing of broken network connections, number and types of transactions and time required to perform each transaction, in the determination of a level of communication performance within individual interface applications. A system monitors performance of a communication interface supporting communication of patient medical data. The system includes an acquisition unit for acquiring performance related data concerning operation of a particular interface supporting communication of patient medical data. A data processor processes the acquired interface performance related data to provide a statistical measure including an interface performance parameter value and compares the performance parameter value with a predetermined threshold value to determine if interface performance is below a predetermined level.

A system records a treatment beam landing area on the anatomical body surface of a patient for use in radiation or other therapy. The system includes an input processor for receiving data representing an image of the surface of a portion of the anatomy of a patient. A data processor provides beam landing position data relative to the image by calculating a position of a treatment beam landing area relative to the image using received input data indicating projection characteristics of a treatment beam used in treating the portion of the anatomy of the patient. A storage processor stores the beam landing position data in a record associated with the patient.

Abstract: A system and corresponding method supports voice communication using a mobile communication device employing a single user associated identification code in different relatively remote locations. A mobile communication device communicates a registration message to an access system at a first remote location using a wireless communication mode responsive to a user registration command via a displayed user interface image. The registration message includes a user associated identification code and security information. The registration message enables the access system to identify the user and to divert voice communication from a first telephone number, linked with a physical address of a second remote location that is associated with the user associated identification code, to the mobile communication device at the first remote location.

The user interface system facilitates selection of a plurality of items from a display of hierarchically organized items. The user interface system includes a user interface image generator for providing data representing a displayable image showing a hierarchical organization of user selectable icons visually identifying whether the selectable icons are currently selected. The hierarchical organization of icons links a parent icon representing a first group of data items with multiple child icons representing corresponding data items of the first group and an individual one of the child icons links to a second group of grandchild icons representing a corresponding second group of data items.

Abstract: A system and associated communication protocol enables network compatible applications to be integrated into any process involving concurrent operation of applications. A system for use in a first application concurrently operating together with a plurality of network compatible applications includes an entitlement processor. The entitlement processor enables user access to the first application in response to validation of user identification information. The system also includes a communication processor for intermittently communicating an activity indication to a managing application within a timeout window and the activity indication is communicated sufficiently often to prevent an inactivity timeout of the first application. The managing application receives activity indications from multiple concurrently operating applications sufficiently frequently to prevent an inactivity timeout of the individual applications and maintains corresponding activity monitoring indicators.

Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring computer application and resource utilization are presented. In one embodiment, a list of different users associated with different entities or customers of a shared computer is maintained. A second list of different applications invoked by one or more of the different users is also maintained. A third list including different programs employed by the different applications invoked by the different users, including a weighting factor for each program is also maintained. These records are then used to identify operation usage and/or cost characteristics of the different applications by particular users associated with different entities of the shared computer, in response to an event.

An information system supports a plurality of network connected infusion pumps. Abstract: A system enables clinicians to use naturally spoken voice commands from a small, wearable, wireless badge (or other portable device) to trigger events including, application session transfer, wireless communications (such as voice calls) and control of electronic devices. A system for managing user operation sessions on multiple servers includes an interface for receiving, from a first workstation, a request to initiate a current session of operation of a particular executable application on a first server and user identification information from a particular user. A session processor, in response to the received particular user identification information, identifies an active session of operation of the particular user on a second server previously initiated via a second workstation and re-attaches connection of the previously initiated active session of operation to the first workstation as the current session in response to a user voice command.
