  • Patent number: 5697517
Abstract: The invention relates to a dispensing unit for banknotes (42), comprising a banknote container (12) and a receiving module (14) which is in the form of the frame into which the banknote container (12) can be pushed. The unit includes an extracting and separating device for extracting banknotes (42) through an opening of the banknote container. The opening can be closed by a flap (26) and a closure plate (30). A retracting element (34) presses the banknotes against the extracting device by a force (P), before the flap is closed. The banknotes which are located in the banknote container are thereby forced away from the opening, back into the container interior. The retracting device is displaced in the direction of the extracting device (34) until the banknotes (42) come into the extracting position.

  • Patent number: 5627633
Abstract: An electrographic printing or copying machine contains, by way of example, a preheating saddle (20,21) positioned upstream of a pair of fixing rollers in the recording substrate running direction and a braking element (10). The preheating saddle (20,21) and braking elements (10) form a gliding surface (23). Suction openings (18,19) in fluid communication with a vacuum-generating device ensure good contact between gliding surface (23) and recording substrate. With the aid of a valve (1), the vacuum can be matched to the operating parameters of the printing and copying machine, or to the parameters of the recording substrate.

  • Patent number: 5613788
Abstract: A cutting device for cutting a print carrier in a printer (10), especially in a till printer, has a blade (22) which is movable along at least one guideway (28) against a fixed counterblade (24) and which, in an open setting, frees an opening (20) to allow the printer carrier to be passed through and, in a closed setting, has at least partially cut through the print carrier. The blade (22) can be moved between the open setting and the closed setting by an adjusting mechanism. The blade (22) has at least two guide elements (38), which are disposed at a distance apart on the side facing away from the cutter (42) of the blade (22). The adjusting mechanism (30) engages in the guide elements (38) in order to adjust the blade (22).

  • Patent number: 5614994
Abstract: A developer station for an electrophotographic printing or copying machine has a developer chamber (12), a mixing chamber (13) and a developer-station sump (14) connected to the two chambers. Two developer-mixture circuits are produced in the developer station, namely a developer-mixture circuit for receiving fresh toner and a developer-mixture circuit for the actual development in a developer gap (18). A paddle roller (37) arranged in the developer-station sump (14) generates, in the outlet region of the mixing chamber (13), a mixture vortex which is enriched with fresh toner and from which developer mixture is extracted continuously for the development process. The mixture vortex serves essentially as a buffer store for compensating a high toner requirement during development and, in conjunction with the mixing chamber (13), for the triboelectric activation of the developer mixture.

  • Patent number: 5608800
Abstract: The process is intended to establish whether the data transmitted by the transmitter (SE) to the receiver (EM) have been tapped and spuriously reintroduced at a later point in time and/or have been inadmissibly altered. For this purpose, the signature (S) assigned to the useful data (D) is enciphered symmetrically, using a combination of coupling data (K), characterizing the coupling between transmitter and receiver, and random data (Z), generated by a random generator. The coupling data are transmitted in plain text, the random data are enciphered. On the receiver side it can be established whether the transmitted message has been tapped and reintroduced at a later point in time if the coupling data are inadmissible.

  • Patent number: 5600092
Abstract: The invention relates to a single contact spring, especially for RF-screening of electronic devices, for latch-locking into sheet-metal apertures. The invention envisages, in a first embodiment, that the single contact spring includes a latch cage (14) and a resilient contact part (2) configured as a contact cup (6), the latch cage (1) is generally configured in a trough shape and, in its lower part, trapezoidally in cross-section, being open at its two front ends and being provided on its two longitudinal sides with two opposing cutouts (16). The top edge of the longitudinal side is angled-off outward and the contact cup (6) is held by means of an angled-off, resilient carrier part (14) fastened to one of the front ends. The advantage of this spring is that it can be mounted in one mounting direction and can be laterally traversed. The contact cup can also, in a further embodiment, be configured in a roof shape.

  • Patent number: 5584474
Abstract: Single sheets A are drawn in the usual way from a first stack 8 of single sheets and conveyed on a first recording carrier conveying path 1. At its end there is a switch 10 which alternately feeds the single sheets A to a second and a third recording carrier conveying path 2, 3. In the second recording carrier conveying path 2 which is in the form of a loop, the single sheets A are shifted sideways by the width of one single sheet. A sideways shifted single sheet A1 and a single sheet A2 which has not been shifted sideways simultaneously reach a fourth recording carrier conveying path 4 on which they are conveyed in pairs to a printing unit D which spans the fourth recording carrier conveying path 4 and conveyed out of it again. Subsequently, one single sheet A1 per pair of single sheets is shifted back by the width of one single sheet in a fifth recording carrier conveying path 5 which is also designed as a loop while the other single sheet A2 is conveyed onwards linearly.

  • Patent number: 5583624
Abstract: A device for the releasable fastening of a fixing drum on a bearing flange of a fixing station in an electrophotographic printer or copier apparatus has a cone-shaped spreader element allocated to the bearing flange and also has a resiliently designed receptacle bushing having an inwardly disposed counter-cone that embraces the spreader element in the fashion of a collet chuck. An outwardly disposed seating surface for the seating of the receptacle bushing is provided at an inside radius of the fixing drum. For the fastening of the fixing drum on the bearing flange the spreader element spreads the receptacle bushing and presses it against the inside radius of the fixing drum.

  • Patent number: 5568245
Abstract: A turnover device is provided having a W-shaped arrangement of hollow rod-like deflector rods and reverser rods with an automatic threading device. The turnover device receives continuous paper in an admission slot, self-threads the paper therethrough, and returns the paper through a discharge slot in a flipped-over manner for use with a multi-functional, electrographic printer device for printing a web-shaped recording medium in simplex and duplex printing. The rods are preferably hollow with air holes to provide an air cushion between the rod and paper. Guide channels are also preferably disposed over each rod to guide the paper thereover.
