Abstract: The embodiments relate to a method, an apparatus, and a computer program for evaluating an x-ray image of a breast produced during a mammography. In order to simplify the evaluation of such an x-ray image in respect of the breast density, a method is proposed to automatically determine the masking risk caused by the mammographically dense tissue and to use this for categorizing, describing, and/or representing the breast density.
Abstract: A method protects an electrical generator or power station unit connected to a power distribution network or to a power transmission line. A short circuit near the generator in the power distribution network or on the power transmission line is detected, and a short-circuit detection signal is generated, when a set of predetermined trigger conditions is satisfied. The electrical generator is disconnected from the network or line if, after generation of the short-circuit detection signal, the trigger conditions are satisfied at the instant when a predetermined delay time elapses, and have remained satisfied until the predetermined delay time elapses. The delay time is a variable duration which is reestablished regularly or irregularly before it elapses, as a function of the operating profile after the short-circuit occurrence, and the generator is disconnected if the trigger conditions are satisfied at the instant when the delay time elapses.

Abstract: A method and a device for preparing a vanadium-containing combustible in a de-asphalting device. In this way, a vanadium-containing combustible is supplied to a de-asphalting unit via a supply line in a de-asphalting device, wherein the vanadium-containing combustible supplied into the de-asphalting unit forms a first mass flow and a substantially de-asphalted combustible is discharged from the de-asphalting unit via a discharge line. A bypass line is connected to the supply line, wherein, via the bypass line, a second mass flow of the vanadium-containing combustible is directed past the de-asphalting unit in parallel to the first mass flow and supplied to the discharge line, such that a combined mass flow is formed in the discharge line.

Abstract: Frequency is swept in acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) scanning. Different frequencies are used at different times during the ARFI. For example, different frequencies are focused to different depths in the ARFI transmit beam. Since the frequency sweep is used for the ARFI pushing pulse rather than a transmit pulse for which echoes are received, the rate of change of the frequency is not dictated by the speed of sound. The rate of change of the frequency may be adjustable or set based on other factors, such as the type of tissue. In combination with a time varying focal position, the frequency sweep may better compensate for loss as compared to a focus sweep alone. The frequency sweep may better compensate for loss as compared to a single point focus ARFI.
Abstract: Methods of calibrating a position of a component using onboard crush and crash sensors. The method includes providing the robot with gripper and crush and crash sensors, providing a calibration tool coupled to the gripper, and providing a component including a recess and crush zone. The method includes moving the gripper in a first Controller direction to sense contact between the calibration tool and crush zone, and recording the contact position. Likewise, the gripper is moved to insert the tool into the recess, followed by moving the gripper in second directions and sensing contact between the tool and recess, and moving the gripper in third directions and sensing contact between the tool and recess. Contact positions are recorded and processed to determine a surface location in the first direction and physical center of the recess. Robot calibration apparatus for carrying out the method are disclosed, as are other aspects.
Abstract: A method for supplying an excitation current to an excitation winding of a rotor of a three-phase generator of a system for producing a three-phase alternating voltage to be fed into a power network. Abstract: A rotor for a reluctance machine includes conductor layers and insulation layers arranged in alternation in the axial direction. The conductor layers have magnetic-flux-conducting conductor regions and the insulation layers are electrically insulating. To improve weight and efficiency of a reluctance machine, the rotor is produced at least partially by additive manufacturing.
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for performing magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for generating multiple T1 maps of separate regions of interest of a subject along a first spatial axis, multiple MR pulse sequences are generated, each MR pulse sequence being for imaging a respective one of the separate regions of interest of the subject. In order to generate each of the plurality of MR pulse sequences, a spatially selective preparation pulse is generated exciting the region of interest of the subject and a number of imaging sequences that follow the application of the spatially selective preparation pulse are generated. MR imaging data are acquired during the generation of the multiple imaging sequences. The multiple MR pulse sequences are generated during a period not exceeding 30 seconds.

Abstract: In a method, device and digital receiver for transmitting signals in magnetic resonance imaging, M channels of digital signals are received over M receiving channels from a digital matrix processor. One receiving channel corresponds to one channel of digital signal and the M channels of digital signals include one channel of main signal and (M?1) channels of high-order signals. The M channels of digital signals are combined into N channels of combined signals, wherein the main signal and at least one channel of high-order signal are combined into one channel of combined signal, or at least two channels of high-order signals are combined into one channel of combined signal. N and M are both positive integers, N is less than M, and M is greater than or equal to 2.
Abstract: In a superconducting magnet arrangement, such as used in a magnetic resonance system, and a power management method therefor, an enhanced economic power mode (EPM) is implemented wherein the compressor operation is controlled by magnet pressure, temperature and time, so as to ensure the readiness of the magnet system for a scanning operation upon exiting the enhanced EPM. A processor implementing the enhanced EPM looks for a signal that indicates that the magnet system is operational and, in the absence of that signal for a predetermined period of time, enters into EPM. Exit from EPM occurs if certain conditions are violated, but then re-entry into EPM is attempted (re-starting EPM), thereby making the magnet system ready for operation again, if and when a patient scan is to be implemented.

Abstract: In a magnetic resonance method and apparatus, deficiencies in conventional masking in quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) are addressed by the inclusion of an additional step in the conventional QSM post-processing pipeline. In this additional step, atlas-based segmentation techniques, which have been developed for morphological applications such as T1w MPRAGE are used in order to provide the mask. This mask is then fed to the remainder of the QSM post-processing pipeline.

Abstract: In a method and apparatus the generation of a pixel-time series of an examination object by magnetic resonance measurement data for a undersampled measurement data set are recorded along a k-space trajectory in a repetition of a pulse sequence. The pulse sequence is repeated at least once again in each case with the radiation of other RF pulses and/or with activation in each case of other gradients such that, on each repetition, after the one RF excitation pulse, measurement data are measured along a further k-space trajectory, and are stored in respective measurement data sets. The repetitions are performed such that measurement data are measured along an optimized selection of k-space trajectories in successive repetitions. From each of the measurement data sets obtained, an image data set is reconstructed, from which at least one pixel-time series is compiled for at least one pixel from the reconstructed image data sets.
