Abstract: Combustor top hat covers are attached to midframe combustor portals with a lugged backing plate that interlocks with mating recesses formed in the corresponding midframe combustor portal. Exemplary embodiments utilize twist lock engagement of backing plate ring lugs under projecting tabs formed over a lug raceway recess in the combustor portal mating surface. The top hat cover is in turn fastened to the combustor portal by fasteners that engage corresponding threaded apertures formed in the backing plate.
Abstract: A multi-stage integrally geared compressor includes a first process stage, a second process stage and a gearbox for coupling the two process stages to each other at different rotational speeds. The gearbox further couples a compressor drive shaft to the two process stages at a further rotational speed, which is different from the rotational speeds of the process stages.
Abstract: An integrated single-piece exhaust system (SPEX) with modular construction that facilitates design changes for enhanced aerodynamics, structural integrity or serviceability. The SPEX defines splined or curved exhaust path surfaces, such as a series of cylindrical and frusto-conical sections that mimic curves. The constructed sections may include: (i) a tail cone assembly fabricated from conical sections that taper downstream to a reduced diameter; or (ii) an area-ruled cross section axially aligned with one or more rows of turbine struts; or both features. Modular inner and outer diameter inlet lips enhance transitional flow between the last row blades and the SPEX, as well as enhance structural integrity. Modular strut collars have large radius profiles between the SPEX annular inner diameter and outer diameter flow surfaces, for enhanced airflow and constant thickness walls for uniform heat transfer and thermal expansion. Scalloped mounting flanges enhance structural integrity and longevity.

Abstract: A method is provided for N-alkylation of acridine compounds by reduction of acridines to corresponding acridans to improve the reactivity of the acridine nitrogen, and subsequent N-alkylation of the acridans in ionic liquid solvents to provide the corresponding acridinium compounds in high yield. This inventive process improves chemical conversion, and does not require the use of highly toxic alkylating agents, such as 1,3-propane sultone.

The RF switch control unit connects each of not more than n input terminals to a different output terminal according to the control signal.
Abstract: A method and system for improving power production efficiency on a wind farm having of a plurality of spatially distributed wind turbines is provided. The method includes receiving a wind measurement that includes a wind direction impinging on a turbine (20), determining a misalignment of the wind turbine with respect to the wind direction, and activating a wake steering control for the wind turbine (20) to implement the misalignment of the wind turbine (20) with the wind direction such that the misalignment is adapted to steer a wake of the wind turbine away from a neighboring wind turbine (30). A wind turbine arrangement including a nacelle, a yaw controller, and a yaw drive is also provided.
Abstract: A first gate data representing a first plurality of time gates for a first medical imaging modality (e.g., PET or CT) is provided. The first plurality of time gates are based on a plurality of cycles of an acquired physiological signal of a person. A gate width is determined for a second medical imaging modality (e.g., CT or PET). A second gate data is generated, representing a second plurality of time gates for the second medical imaging modality. Each time gate in the second plurality of time gates has the determined gate width and is generated dependent on a respective time gate in the first plurality of time gates.

Abstract: A surface of an object is irradiated using an infrared light beam. The infrared light beams reflected at the object are received by an infrared camera which captures a first intensity of the reflected infrared light beams on a detector of the infrared camera. Ambient radiation reflected at the object and the characteristic radiation of the object are detected by capturing a second intensity of the reflected ambient radiation and the characteristic radiation of the object on the detector of the infrared camera. The emissivity of the object is calculated based on the first intensity and the second intensity.
Abstract: Components and/or assemblies are applied on a substrate. The substrate has a populating side and a heat sink side, to which a heat sink is fitted. The populating side is provided with a cover, which together with a heat sink on the heat sink side of the substrate forms a type of housing for the populated substrate. Between substrate and heat sink, a guide channel for a cooling medium (e.g. air, etc.) is provided and the substrate has an opening. A fan is fitted above the opening in such a way that a cooling flow of the cooling medium generated by the fan is conducted through the guide channel on the heat sink side of the substrate and over the populating side of the substrate and thus over the mounted components and/or assemblies. The heated cooling medium is then conducted away with the aid of the cover.
Abstract: A method for controlling a magnetic resonance system is provided. The magnetic resonance system includes a plurality of radio-frequency transmit channels via which, in operation, parallel RF pulse trains are transmitted. The method includes specifying a common reference pulse train for the plurality of the radio-frequency transmit channels. The method also includes, determining, in an RF pulse optimization method, taking into account a prespecified target magnetization, a transmit scaling factor for each of the radio-frequency transmit channels in order to calculate the RF pulse trains for the transmit channels on the basis of the reference pulse train. The transmit scaling factors are optimized taking into account a component-induced B1 field maximum value that is dependent upon the transmit scaling factors.
Abstract: Switching and switchover devices for DC networks make it possible to realize, particularly in the event of faults, rapid and reliable switching processes in combination with good overvoltage damping and low energy losses during normal operation. The switching devices furthermore have short turn-off times and require no cooling since they have no on-state power losses during normal operation.
Abstract: A magnetic resonance coil for transmitting and/or receiving magnetic resonance signals is provided. The magnetic resonance coil includes at least two overlapping coil elements. Coil conductors of the at least two overlapping coil elements intersect in intersection regions and are arranged on a support. Mutually overlapping coil elements of the at least two overlapping coil elements are arranged on different sides of the support. The support is formed from at least three layers of a support material. A cavity that is filled with air or a filler material, the dielectric constant of the filler material being lower than the dielectric constant of the support material, is provided in the intersection regions in a middle layer of the at least three layers.
