Abstract: Window assemblies and methods for their construction are disclosed. In one aspect, the disclosed window assemblies include wooden side jambs connected to a non-wooden sill assembly via intermediately positioned end caps. In some examples, each end cap includes a main body and a step defined within the main body for supporting an end of the sill assembly, wherein the step extends at an oblique angle to a length of the side jamb associated with the end cap. The provision of an angled or obliquely oriented shelf eliminates the need to mill a similarly shaped structure within the wooden side jambs.

Abstract: Window assemblies and methods for making window assemblies are disclosed herein. In one aspect, the window assembly can include a base frame assembly, an accessory support frame assembly, and an exterior accessory frame assembly. The base frame assembly is connected to and supported by the accessory support frame. The accessory support frame can be attached to a building structure via a first plurality of fasteners. The exterior accessory frame assembly, which provides much of the exterior aesthetic appearance of the window assembly, can be connected to the accessory support frame via a second plurality of fasteners which are concealed from view by the exterior accessory frame. In one example, the accessory members conceal the first plurality of fasteners once the exterior accessory assembly is connected to the base frame assembly. Many different styles of exterior accessory frames can be supported by the accessory support frame.

Abstract: A window assembly is disclosed including a window casing; a sash assembly slidably mounted within the window casing, the sash assembly including first and second stiles extending between first and second rails; a first tilt latch assembly mounted in the first stile; a second tilt latch assembly mounted in the second stile; and a sash lock mounted to the first rail, the sash lock being operably connected to the first and second tilt latch assemblies to operate the first and second tilt latch assemblies between a latched position in which a latch member of each of the first and second tilt latch assemblies engages with the window casing assembly and an unlatched position in which the latch member of each of the first and second tilt latch assemblies is disengaged with the window casing assembly.

In one aspect, the frame includes a main body defining an interior-side surface and an opposite opening-side surface extending between first and second ends. To facilitate use with different window types, part or all of the opening-side surface can be formed in a parallel arrangement with the interior-side surface. The frame can include a first attachment arrangement located proximate the main body first end that is configured for attachment to one or more cladding members. In one aspect, the first attachment arrangement includes a first clip member having a first outer portion and a first inner portion that define a first female receiving area and having a first overhang portion extending at least partially across the female receiving area to enable a snap-fit connection between the main body and the cladding member.

Abstract: A separator placer assembly is used with a lumber stacker, which creates a stack of lumber, includes a frame, a separator transfer assembly, and a plurality of transfer arm assemblies. The separator transfer assembly includes a continuous loop chain, preferably a plurality of continuous loop chains, with upper and lower reaches mounted to the frame. Separators are transferred to lugs on the chain at a first position along the lower reach. The plurality of transfer arm assemblies, each with first and second arms, is mounted to the frame beneath the lower reach at a transfer position downstream of the first position. A separator supported by the lugs is removed from the lugs by the arms and released onto the stack of lumber.
