  • Patent number: 6205980
Abstract: A high-pressure delivery pump is provided which includes a high-pressure cylinder and a plunger displaceable within the high-pressure cylinder. The high-pressure delivery pump also includes an eccentric pin which is arranged on a drive shaft having an axis of rotation perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis of the plunger. The plunger has a disk-shaped widened portion at a first end thereof. The disk-shaped widened portion extends radially outwardly from the high-pressure cylinder. A rolling ring in rotatably mounted on the drive shaft and an outer circumference of the rolling ring faces the widened portion of the plunger. The widened portion of the plunger bears against the outer circumference of the rolling ring to form a contact area. The rolling ring has at least one recess or relieved portion at its outer circumference.

  • Patent number: 6132193
Abstract: A housing (7") of the displacement machine for compressible media includes an end wall (28). Placed onto the housing (7") in the axial direction is a hood (50), which, together with the end wall (28), bounds a space (51). The two inlets (12, 12'), which are located on the outside in the radial direction, are connected to each other by this space. For its part, the hood (50) has a nozzle-like connection (52), via which the displacement machine can be connected to an upstream air filter. The displacement machine needs little space, as viewed in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 6116875
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible media includes a displacer (1) which is arranged in a stationary housing. When the machine is operating, the displacer executes a circulating but non-rotating movement. Spiral bars (3, 3') are arranged perpendicularly on the disk (2). The bars (3, 3') have outer sealing faces (30, 30') and inner sealing faces (31, 31'). The beginning (32) of the outer sealing faces (30, 30') is offset with respect to the beginning (33) of the inner scaling faces (31, 31'), as viewed in the circumferential direction. This is correspondingly true of the end (34, 35) of the sealing faces. The bars (3, 3') engage in spiral delivery spaces in the housing and, when the machine is operating, the sealing faces (30, 30', 31, 31'), together with the cylindrical walls of the delivery spaces, form working chambers in a uniform rotational angle interval of the drive.

  • Patent number: 6024207
Abstract: A feed device for a packaging machine having two conveying elements that circulate adjacent to one another at least along an operating path between a loading station and an unloading station. The conveying elements are driven by separate drive motors each connected to a respective rotation angle sensor. The motors and sensors are connected to a control device. Each conveying element has a plurality of pushers spaced with a uniform, settable interval, the plurality of pushers extending over only a portion of the length of the respective conveying element and including a front pusher and back pusher. The control device control the device motors in such a manner that the front pusher of the one conveying element, in the region of the loading station, follows the back pusher of other conveying element with a spacing corresponding to the interval.

  • Patent number: 6023917
Abstract: The method proposed calls for a crush blade (9), which separates cross-sealed plastic bags from each other, to be built into a cross-sealing jaw. The crush blade (9) has a zig-zag crush edge (16) made up of V-shaped grooves (17,18) laterally staggered with respect to each other. Joining with the angles (26,27) of the crush edge (16) are sharp cutting edges (24,25) which run in the direction of rotation (19) of the blade (9). The cutting edges (24,25) make an angle with the plane (23) of the crush edge (16). This ensures a long life of the blade (9) and makes it easy for the consumer to tear open the bags.

  • Patent number: 5771660
Abstract: Two holders (27-30) arranged on both sides of the mid-plane (4) of a conveyed tubular bag (1) are rotated in parallel directions by crank mechanisms (15-18). A sealing jaw (37) or matching jaw (38) is vertically guided in the holders (27-30) and prestressed by a spring (41) against a stop (44). Stopping rollers (62) project sideways from the jaws (37, 38) and bump against supporting strips (48, 49) before the jaws (37, 38) touch each other. The supporting strips (48, 49) are moved against each other by a controller (54) in such a way that the vertical components of motion of the jaws are delayed in a controlled manner. On the contrary, before the jaws (37, 38) are moved away from each other, they are accelerated up to the required vertical speed to bump softly against the stop (44). This device works without noise, is gentle to the material and may be adapted to various working conditions.

  • Patent number: 5501559
Abstract: A screw connection includes a first component having an outer surface and a countersunk bore extending from the surface and having a cylindrical portion adjoining the outer surface of the first component. There is further provided a second component adjoining the first component. A screw passes through the countersunk bore and extends into the second component for joining together the first and second components. The screw includes a screw head having an end face which is recessed relative to the outer surface. A disk is press-fitted into the cylindrical portion of the countersunk bore. The disk has a surface oriented toward the end face of the screw head. The disk surface has a center part which is in direct or indirect contact with the end face of the screw head. A circumferential marginal part of the disk is at a clearance from the end face of the screw head whereby an externally applied pressing force on the disk at a disk location spaced from the center part causes a rocking motion of the disk.

  • Patent number: 5477656
Abstract: A cutting apparatus for separating a series of an indeterminate number of end-to-end connected bag packages into groups of a predetermined number of end-to-end connected bag packages includes a first rotary member including a knife; a second rotary member including a countersupport having an outer surface contacting the knife upon each revolution thereof, whereby a transverse seam connecting two adjoining bag packages and momentarily situated between the knife edge and the outer surface is cut. The outer surface is provided with a depression. The apparatus further has a shifting mechanism for shifting the rotary knife and the countersupport relative to one another into first and second positions. In the first position the knife passes across the depression for leaving a length portion of the knife out of contact with the outer surface, whereby the transverse seam remains uncut along the length portion to preserve a connecting web between the two adjoining bag packages.

  • Patent number: 5415240
Abstract: The invention concerns a rock drill (2) for activating a rotatable and reciprocable drill steel assembly (FIG. 1 ). A reversible motor (50) is coupled to a striking bar (3) for rotating the drill steel. The striking bar is struck by a percussion piston (10). A rotary fluid valve (15) is operating the piston. A disconnectable coupling (37,38,43) in normal operation couples both the valve (15) and the striking bar (3) with the motor (50). In special modes the motor operates only the percussion piston, e.g. for retracting a drill rod, or only rotates the striking bar (3), e.g. for connecting and disconnecting drill rods.

  • Patent number: 5383761
Abstract: An apparatus for separating and sequentially conveying articles from an article stack includes an article accumulator in which the article stack is formed, a wheel, and a plurality of article pushers mounted on the wheel. Each article pusher has an article pushing face for pushing the article out of the article accumulator and is movable relative to the wheel into a first and a second position. In the first position the article pushing face is sufficiently close to the accumulator to abut and carry an article as the pusher passes by the accumulator and in the second position the article pushing face is sufficiently remote from the accumulator to move past the stack without abutting an article as the article pusher passes by the accumulator. Further, a control device moves selected article pushers into the second position prior to reaching the accumulator. A device resets the article pushers into the first position after having passed the accumulator.
