Abstract: A noise detector, a method of detecting an event at a location, and an analysis/alert engine. In one embodiment, the method includes: (1) deriving a raw signal from noise proximate the noise detector and (2) generating a noise score from the raw signal, the noise score being insufficient to reproduce a content of the raw signal, (3) detecting a number of wireless devices at the location, and (4) determining occurrence of an event at the location based on the noise score and the number of wireless devices detected.
