Patents Assigned to Sigma Diesel
  • Patent number: 4167926
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an internal combustion engine is provided with a graduated sector on a part which rotates with the cam shaft of the pump and which is disposed within the pump casing. The casing is provided with a viewing aperture through which the graduated sector can be seen. Indicating means are provided in the viewing aperture so as to co-operate with the graduated sector to indicate the angular position of the pump shaft, thereby facilitating setting of the timing of the pump shaft rotation relative to the rotation of the engine crank shaft.

  • Patent number: 3985474
Abstract: The hydraulic head especially for an "in line" injection pump, comprises a cylinder forming a pump chamber, in which a pump piston moves, having at least one fuel supply orifice formed in its cylindrical wall. The hydraulic head has a deflector element situated axially at the level of this supply orifice to deflect a jet of fuel capable of emerging from said orifice. A delivery connector is connected to the cylinder, and is constituted by an elastic ring of cylindrical form. The ring is open and has two ends arranged to come into contact with one another, said ends being separable from one another.

  • Patent number: 3977343
Abstract: A device for regulating the delivery per revolution of an internal combustion fuel injection pump comprises a pusher movable by a governor responsive to the engine speed, a sleeve connected to a control rod for adjusting the pump delivery and means operatively coupling the pusher and the sleeve. The latter means comprise a retaining element on which the sleeve is slidable and which has an inclined surface, balls disposed between the inclined surface of the retaining element and an inclined surface of the pusher, the two inclined surfaces converging in a direction parallel to the pusher axis. The retaining element is adapted to engage at one end with a resilient abutment associated with the governor, and an entraining member which moves with the sleeve is provided for transmitting axial movements of the balls to the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 3965876
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an internal combustion engine has a pump assembly comprising a piston and cylinder and a structure defining a delivery passage through which fuel is delivered, during an active portion of a delivery stroke of the piston, from the cylinder to a linking passage connected to an injector. The structure also defines a return flow passage for the fuel between the linking passage and the cylinder. A normally closed delivery valve positioned in the delivery passage in alignment with the cylinder is responsive to pressure in the delivery passage to open during the active portion of the delivery stroke of the piston to allow fuel to be delivered to the linking passage.

  • Patent number: 3960127
Abstract: A device for regulating the delivery of a fuel injection pump of an internal combustion engine comprises a centrifugal governor coupled to a regulating member of the pump by a transmission lever so that the delivery of the pump is regulated in dependence upon engine speed. The transmission lever is pivotally connected at its ends to a control member of the governor and to the regulating member respectively, the lever being freely rotatably mounted intermediate its ends on a spindle eccentrically mounted on a pivot rotatably supported by a casing of the device. Actuating means responsive to a controlling fluid pressure is provided for rotating the pivot in order to adjust the regulating member in dependence upon the controlling fluid pressure.

  • Patent number: 3945773
Abstract: The hydraulic head comprises a cylinder forming a pump chamber and comprising at least one fuel supply orifice formed in its cylindrical wall. A pump piston is adapted to move in said cylinder, and a delivery connector is connected to the cylinder. This connector is provided externally with a shoulder adapted to constitute an axial stop for the hydraulic head, against a support surface of the pump casing comprising housings adapted to receive said hydraulic heads. The delivery connector, comprises, in addition, internally, a delivery valve, the end portion of the cylinder turned towards the delivery connector comprising, on its outer surface, fixing means adapted to cooperate with complementary fixing means provided on the inner surface of a housing of the delivery connector adapted to receive said end portion of the cylinder. Thus, in the fully assembled hydraulic head, said cylinder is directly suspended on the delivery connector.
