Abstract: Compounds of formula (I),
wherein the groups are as defined in the disclosure, as well as the use thereof in cosmetic compositions and in the stabilization of synthetic polymers.
Abstract: A method for thickening an acidic aqueous composition. The method is based upon the addition of a crosslinked cationic homopolymer of a cationic monomer of formula I
in which: R is hydrogen, (C1-4)alkyl, or the radical CH2COOH, R1 is hydrogen, methyl, carboxy, or the radical CH3—CH═CH, R2 is methylene or a straight or branched (C2-4) alkylene moiety, R3, R4, and R5 are independently hydrogen or (C1-4) alkyl, and X is chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydrogen sulfate, or methosulfate to the aqueous solution in an amount ranging from about 0.01 to about 5% of the weight of the acidic aqueous composition. The homopolymers are crosslinked with a crosslinking agent containing at least two ethylenically unsaturated moieties present in amounts ranging from not less than 50 to about 600 ppm of the homopolymer total weight.
Abstract: Derivatives of 2,4,6-tris-[(p-carboxy)-anilino]-5-triazine are described, which can be used as light stabilizers for synthetic polymers and for the preparation of cosmetic and dermatological compositions.
Abstract: Free radical deactivating 4- or 1,4-substituted, 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidines are condensed with UV absorbing cinnamic acids or benzoic acids or benzoazols or benzophenones to produce skin anti-aging compounds and compositions which have both free radical deactivation and UV absorbing properties.
Abstract: A device for pressing Louis shoe heels is provided comprising a lever pivotally mounted on the press cushion and carrying at the point of application of the load the usual felt pad or the like intended to be applied against the outer periphery of the heel and subjected to the action of an actuator at the point of application of the effort. The lever can be turned over in order to bring the device in an inoperative position wherein it no longer interferes with the operator.
Abstract: A device for cementing soles on the base surface of shoes is provided. The device is provided with a cushion formed of a plurality of blocks resiliently movable and adapted to automatically lock in a position where they mate the shoe lower surface. This locking operation is controlled by a microswitch actuated by the block corresponding to the shoe waist. The heel pressing block is also locked simultaneously with said plurality of blocks.
