Patents Assigned to Signfix Limited
  • Patent number: 5810305
Abstract: A mounting device (2) for securing an object to a post includes an abutment member (6) and an attachment member (4). The abutment member (6) has a face (7) adapted to seat against the post and arms (12) slotted to receive a resiliently flexible strap (10). The attachment member (4) is used for attachment to a channel member associated with the object. The channel member has a mouth restricted by inturned lips. The attachment member (4) also includes one or more substantially flat plate portions (24) for insertion into the channel member to be retained therein by the inturned lips and neck portions (26) to extend through the mouth of the channel leading to head portions (16) slotted to receive the resiliently flexible strap. In use, the strap is provided in the slots which are located such that at the points where the strap passes through the slotted head portions (16), the slot therein lies as close as, or closer to, the post than at the points where the strap passes through the slots of the arms (12).

  • Patent number: 5732915
Abstract: A mounting device (2) for securing a sign to a post (46) is disclosed comprising: (a) a saddle portion having a pair of opposite side members (4) of similar form and spaced apart, the side members being adapted to seat against a post (46); (b) a base element (6) joining and spacing apart the side members (4), the base element (6) having a narrower neck portion (7) extending away from the post and connected to an enlarged abutment portion (3), the neck portion (7) being adapted to allow the abutment portion (3) to pass slideably into a channel (32) attached to the sign, the channel having a mouth with inturned lips to retain the abutment portion (3) in the channel; and (c) a pair of attachment members (8) held at opposite ends of the saddle portion and connectable to the post by strapping passed around the post, wherein the attachment members (8) have stem portions (25) connected to the abutment portion. Preferably, the mounting device (2) is made from a single component, e.g. folded from a sheet metal blank.

  • Patent number: 5590504
Abstract: A sign is formed from a plurality of panels abutted edge-to-edge. A main elongate reinforcing member has a transverse head for attachment thereto of a mounting device for the sign, and a depending leg terminating in an offset foot secured to the rear of a first sign panel adjacent an abutting edge of the panel. A second, elongate, reinforcing member has a generally L-shaped cross-section including a foot portion secured to the rear of an adjacent second sign panel at the edge abutting the first panel and an upright portion abutting the leg of the main reinforcing member. One of the reinforcing members has a flange at the foot projecting into a recess in the foot portion of the other reinforcing member. The head of the reinforcing member is offset with respect to the leg on the opposite side from the projection of the foot to expose the foot for rivetting to the plate.

  • Patent number: 4801115
Abstract: A mounting bracket for mounting an offset sign (46) to a post (50) has a plate (12) for rivetting to a T-shaped reinforcing element (44) along the top or bottom of the sign. The bracket has two transverse channels (14,28). One channel (14) has internal ribs (23,24) defining a slot (27) to receive the head (34) of a bolt (32), the shank (33) of which then projects from the channel for bolting it to the post (50). An alternative method of mounting is to pass a strap around the post and through the channel (28). The bracket can accommodate round posts by cutting a shallow V profile (58) in the walls at the mouth of the channel (14).

  • Patent number: 4705253
Abstract: An offset sign is mounted to a supporting post by means of brackets top and bottom. Each bracket has a horizontal plate which is secured to the edge of the sign and a first transverse channel at one end of the plate, the mouth of the channel providing edges which abut the post. A second channel is provided back-to-back with the first channel to receive either a tensile strap passed around the post, or else a bar with a threaded hole in which is engaged a threaded rod extending through the common web between the channels and through the post itself.

  • Patent number: 4475652
Abstract: A coil of steel banding tape is contained within a flat toroidal container. The end of the tape is withdrawn from an aperture in the outer peripheral wall of the container, and the central space in the container is large enough to admit the human arm, so that the pack can be carried on site on the arm of the user. The flat annular walls are in fact preferably slightly convex in profile between the inner and outer peripheral walls so that the coil is not clamped by the user gripping the pack in one hand. The inside surface of the outer peripheral wall is preferably also provided with a series of inward projections to keep the tape out of contact with the inside surface of the wall.
