  • Patent number: 9830330
Abstract: Cloud-based systems and methods to securely share electronic files use a cloud or virtualized server to handle management tasks related to file sharing, while file storage is maintained securely by servers that are not part of the cloud. The content of the file to be shared is not transmitted to or by the cloud. Share requests from file senders, notifications to target recipients, and retrieve requests from target recipients are transmitted to and/or by the cloud.

  • Patent number: 9692799
Abstract: A plurality of users may interact with a content distribution system in order to share digital media content. The system may receive, store, and/or publish a delivery specification that includes requirements relating to digital content that a first user wishes to receive. The delivery specification for the digital content may include one or more requirements of the digital content to be received. A second user who wishes to provide the digital content may access the delivery specification. The system provides for flexible validation of the media content from the second user. For example, validation may occur at device of the first user, at a device of the second user, and/or at a device of the content distribution system. Upon validation of the media content from the second user, the system may facilitate transfer of the media content from the second user to the first user.

  • Patent number: 9032081
Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods for load balancing cloud-based accelerated transfer servers. The system may transfer target data from client computer systems into and/or out of cloud storage. The system may allocate a set of transfer server instances and provide a client computer system with a publicly available address of each of the allocated transfer server instances. The client computer system may transmit the target data to an allocated transfer server instance via the publicly available address using an accelerated network protocol that uses a connectionless network protocol. The allocated transfer server instance may cause the target data to be stored in cloud storage, such as a cloud object storage provided by a cloud service provider. A given transfer server instance may be integrated with the cloud service provider and have a local, low latency, connection to storage devices of the cloud service provider.

  • Patent number: 8667145
Abstract: A system and method are provided for establishing multiple parallel connections between a client and a server on a single server port. Data may be transferred on the multiple parallel connections between the server and the client through an opening in a network firewall that corresponds to the single server port. A control process may accept N connection requests from a client then transfer each accepted connection to a relay process that manages that connection. Each relay process may relay data between the server and the client via the single server port. A single collective data transfer may be executed on the N parallel connections, thereby increasing throughput and data transfer rates. If the data transfer rate is primarily limited by network latency, using N parallel connections provides the advantage of increasing the data transfer rate by approximately a factor of N.

  • Patent number: 7343301
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for notifying designated individuals of the success, failure or other status of a data transfer process. The system includes a central management computer for controlling the data transfer process and distributed agents for carrying out the process. As the data transfer process continues, the status, including success or failures of individual steps, is communicated to the central management computer in encoded messages within a control protocol. The central management computer retains logs of the status. Upon completion or termination of the data transfer process, the logs or other information regarding status of the process are provided to designed persons by the central management computer.

  • Patent number: 7152108
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing security using an authorization process in connection with data transfers. Keyed certificates are used to authenticate remote computers. An authorization table maps remote computers to allowable local users and corresponding qualifiers. In order to complete a data transfer process, the system of the present invention authenticates the remote computer, determines its authority to act as a designated local user, and determines whether the remote computer, acting as the designated local user, can perform the actions required for the data transfer.
