Patents Assigned to Signs & Glassworks, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5635283
Abstract: An iridescent sign and its method of manufacture requires a transparent substrate having a design printed thereon using a four-color process. A transparent film, having a pigment printed thereon, is laminated to the substrate with the design positioned between the substrate and the film. To obtain additional visual effects for the sign, selected portions of the substrate may be textured. Additionally, certain portions of the design can be masked with an opaque ink to give the masked portions a flat appearance while the remained of the sign retains its iridescent qualities.

  • Patent number: 5222315
Abstract: A picture display includes a clear substrate and a sealing sheet which holds a masking liner against the substrate to create a pocket between the substrate and the liner. A picture is insertable into the pocket where it can be held for display through the clear substrate. In the manufacture of the picture display, an ink deposit is placed around the border of the substrate and this deposit is then held between the substrate and the sealing sheet. This creates a framing effect for any picture which is placed in the pocket. Further, the sealing sheet is formed with a slit which provides access into the pocket. Still further, a portion of the substrate can be heat formed to create a stand for the picture display.

  • Patent number: 5223357
Abstract: A decorative promotional display signage and its method of manufacture includes the steps for combining the constituent elements of the signage, and the resultant combination of these elements. The signage includes a clear transparent substrate with an informational image created on the posterior surface of the substrate by selectively depositing transparent colored inks on this surface. Clear ink may also be deposited on selected portions of the posterior surface of the substrate to emphasize the informational image. A sheet of holographic film, to present a variable color cast to the image, is adhered to the substrate with the layers of ink positioned between the substrate and the holographic film.
