  • Patent number: 6826801
Abstract: A hinge is disclosed between the side piece (2) and the endpiece (1) of the frame of a pair of glasses. The side piece and the endpiece are parts (1, 2) made of wire, of which one bears a hinge body (6) which serves as a hinge axis with a coaxial, peripheral groove (7) for receiving a bearing eye which consists of the bent end (3) of the wire of which the other part (1) is made. The bearing eye forms a peripherally open eyelet (8) which can elastically engage the peripheral groove (7). In order to achieve advantageous manufacturing conditions, the wire of which the part (2) that bears the hinge body (6) is made has a bent, hairpin-shaped end piece (3) which form-fittingly holds between its branches (4, 5) the hinge body (6) on both sides of the peripheral groove (7). The crosspiece (10) located between the two branches (4, 5) of the end piece (3) covers the outer side of the eyelet (8), which forms the bearing eye of the other part (1).

  • Patent number: 6357873
Abstract: In a positive-locking connection between a metallic bridge and a moulded article which is injection-moulded from plastic, in particular for spectacles, one end of the bridge engages in the moulded article. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the moulded article form a plug-in receiving means with the engaging end of the bridge which is provided with a wave-like snap-in profiling and can be inserted into the plug-in receiving means under a substantially elastic deformation of a wall profiling of the receiving means which is shaped according to the snap-in profiling of the bridge end.

  • Patent number: 6324702
Abstract: The description relates to a double lens (1) for skiing goggles with a curved outer lens (2) and an equally curved inner lens (3) made of a cellulose propionate foil, arranged at a distance from the outer lens (2), which is connected with the outer lens (2) via a sealing tape (4) at the edge. To ensure a favorable fogging behaviour it is suggested that both the outer lens (2), made of injection-molded polycarbonate, and the inner lens (3), made of a vacuum-formed cellulose propionate foil, are curved spherically and that the outer lens (2) is provided with a hygroscopic coating (7) at its inner side.

  • Patent number: 6116731
Abstract: There are described sunglasses with an optical spectacle insert (14) which consists of a frame (16) for two spectacle glasses (15) and in the vicinity of its nose piece (17) can releasably be connected with the sunglasses. To create advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that in its nose piece (17) the optical spectacle insert (14) should have a through hole (18) for at least one plug-in projection (10) of an attachment plug engaging in a plug-in recess (11) of the forehead-side portion (5) of the sunglass frame (1).
