Patent number: 7780104Abstract: A bait reel equipped with a turning dial controls the winding of the fishing line by controlling the revolution of the spool during fishing. The bait reel equipped with a turning dial has a dial for spooling connected by the handle axle and the combination of gears. Therefore, it enables the user to manually fine-tune the revolution of the spool, makes the structure of the reel simple even when the turning dial is added by making the guide support add the turning dial to the handle axle so the fishing line can be smoothly and stably wound on or released from the spool, and makes it easy to change and maintain the turning dial by fixing the turning dial to the side cover located, with the possibility of detaching and re-attaching, on the opposite side of the handle.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2009Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignee: Silver Star Co., LtdInventor: Cheol-woo Park

Patent number: 5746297Abstract: A device for preventing reverse rotation of a rotor in spinning reels is disclosed. In the device, an operational control shaft is fitted over a connection shaft and biased by a plate spring generating an elastic force. The operational control shaft has two connecting arms extending in different directions. The connecting arms are movably coupled to longitudinal holes of a reverse rotation prevention claw pivoted to a reel body, thereby coupling the operational control shaft to the claw at two coupling points. The turning force of the operational control shaft is thus precisely transmitted to the claw, thereby precisely performing the reverse rotation prevention operation. In this device both the connection shaft and the operational control shaft can smoothly rotate as they are supported by the plate spring.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1996Date of Patent: May 5, 1998Assignee: Silver Star Co. Patent number: 5456038Abstract: A fishline guider pipe assembly having a detachably screwed guider for an internal fishline type fishing rod. The assembly includes a fishline guider pipe having an inner threaded hole at its middle section and fitted to front and rear pipe pieces of the fishing rod at its hollowed front and rear pipe sections. The inner threaded hole slopes down to the front pipe section and opens to the outside of the guider pipe and to the inside of the front pipe section. The inside end of the inner threaded hole is reduced in its diameter to form an annular stop. The outer threaded cylindrical guider is screwed in the threaded hole for guiding a fishline to the inside of the front pipe section. The inside guide ring is interposed between the annular stop of the guider pipe and an inside end of the cylindrical guider while the outside guide ring is received in the outside end of the cylindrical guider. With this screwthreaded structure, the guider can be separated from the guider pipe when the guider needs repairing.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1994Date of Patent: October 10, 1995Assignee: Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Bo K. Patent number: 5417377Abstract: A drum reel with a spool brake for balancing the differential rotational velocities of spool and fishline. The spool brake comprises an annular brake drum and a band brake having a pair of arcuate brake parts connected to each other and placed in the brake drum. A brake operating member, having a link engaging part, is placed between the free ends of the brake parts in order to bias the brake parts in opposed directions. A link is provided on one of the frames and engages the brake operating member for rotating this member, and has a slit engaging with the link engaging part such that rotation of the slit causes rotation of the member. A lever is interposed between the frames and hinged to the link such that the lever moves rotating the link and in turn rotating the brake operating member.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1994Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Bo K. Patent number: 5406736Abstract: An internal fishline type fishing rod having a fishline guider. The fishing rod includes a hollow fishing rod body having a longitudinal opening. A guider support member is tightly received about the rod body such that it is placed about the opening. This support member has a recessed flat section of which the opposed sides are provided with guide rails. A fishline guider body, having a slant fishline guide hole and being provided with a pair of ceramic guide rings on opposed ends of the guide hole, is engaged with the support member. Opposed guide slots of the guider body are inserted into the guide rails of the support member such that the slant fishline guide hole is received in the hollow rod body through the opening of the rod body. A fixture is tightly received about the rod body such that it blocks the guider body insert end of the support member, so that it prevents the guider body from separation from the support member.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1994Date of Patent: April 18, 1995Assignee: Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Bo K. Patent number: 5401345Abstract: A method for connection of a bell tube to a distal end of an internal fishline type fishing rod. The bell tube and the distal pipe member of the fishing rod are integrated into a single body during production of the distal pipe member, thus to increase the connection force between them. The material for the distal pipe member is wound about a pipe production mandrel such that a distal end of the mandrel remains bare. The bare distal end of the mandrel is inserted into the small diameter section of the bell tube having at least one annular groove thereabout such that ends of both the bell tube and the pipe member come into intimate contact with each other about the mandrel. Connection material, the same material as that of the pipe member, is wound about the bell tube and the pipe member simultaneously such that the connection material fills the annular grooves of the bell tube.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1994Date of Patent: March 28, 1995Assignee: Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Bo K. Patent number: 5373639Abstract: A pipe cutter includes a hollow head portion having a first and second ends and a passage way is formed along a longitudinal axis thereof. A jaw element is formed on the first end of the head portion thereby defining a mouth for receiving a pipe to be cut. A blade means has a blade received therein, the blade slidably engaged in the passage way of the head portion. Two handles, each has two ends, one end thereof pivoted to the head portion. A transmission means has first and second ends, the first end pivoted to the blade means and the second ends pivoted to the handles, such that the transmission means converts pivotal movements of the handles into linear movement of the blade means.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1993Date of Patent: December 20, 1994Assignee: Taiwan Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Chi-Chieh Huang

Patent number: 5240202Abstract: A spool braking/releasing device which applies a braking force to a spool shaft being in a free rotation state and releases the braking force applied to the spool shaft comprising a braking movable member provided at the rear end of the spool shaft and adapted to move longitudinally of the spool shaft and an actuating lever adapted to move the movable member between its braking position and its releasing position. The actuating lever has a finger grip portion disposed just beneath the fishing rod so that the fisherman can manipulate the actuating lever by using his hand gripping the fishing rod. The actuating lever can be operated by the double manipulation thereof, so that a proper frictional resistance can be applied to the rotating spool shaft. Accordingly, it is possible to easily apply an instant braking force to the spool shaft prior to the manipulation of a handle, depending on the fishing condition.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1991Date of Patent: August 31, 1993Assignee: Silver Star Co. Patent number: 5186412Abstract: A spool braking force switching device for fishing constructed such that a clutch switching mechanism enables selectively controlling the rotation of the spool shaft. The spool shaft can be freely rotated in one state while a braking force is exerted to the rotation of the spool shaft in the case winding of the fishline is desired. According to the invention, the construction of the reel can be simplified, mounting space and operating range are reduced, whereby the miniatarizing of the reel can be obtained, designing and manufacturing are easy, and efficiency for disassembling and assembling can be improved.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1990Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: Silver Star Co., Ltd.Inventor: Bo K.
