Abstract: A single unit milk dispenser for producing hot frothed milk or hot non-frothed milk uses milk and steam. A reservoir supplies milk via an adjustable valve to a first chamber. For supplying frothed milk, steam is issued from a first steam outlet nozzle and mixes and froths with the milk in the first chamber and in an expansion chamber before being dispensed out of a collection chamber. For non-frothed milk, steam supplied from a second steam outlet nozzle is released to mix and swirl around with cold milk fed from the reservoir into the collection chamber. The rate of flow of milk out of the reservoir is normally adjusted for the two mode of operation, which mode is simply otherwise determined by which nozzle supplies steam, by turning a steam supply selection knob.
Abstract: A safety device to protect a piece of domestic electrical apparatus connected by means of a flexible supply lead to a plug to be attached to a conventional mains outlet. Between the pins of the plug and the exposed electrical working components of the apparatus is provided an on-off switch which will isolate the electrical operating components from the mains supply when the switch is in the "off" position. Sensor means are positioned within the piece of domestic electrical apparatus adjacent any exposed electrical components and control means for detecting a path of conduction between the sensor means and those exposed electrical components. Magnetically controlled release means including a permanent magnet and an electrically induced magnetic field in opposition thereto, preferably a DC motor provides movement when energized by the control means when the latter detect a path of conduction.
Abstract: Hand-held electrical apparatus having an electrical detector in the form of a conductive sensor adjacent to any exposed electrical part so that if the apparatus becomes wet or damp the water will form path of conduction between the exposed electrical part and the sensor. A conductive path from the sensor forming part of the supply lead to the plug, and the plug comprising normally closed mechanical switch at least in the live line from the mains supply to the supply lead to the apparatus and a control circuit connected to the said sensor by the conductive path which open the switch as a result of the conductive path having been formed from the exposed electrical part because of the presence of moisture. The switch comprises a length of wire holding electrical contacts closed against the action of a spring. The control circuit fuse the wire, however, to allow the spring to open the contacts when the conductive path is established.
