Abstract: Disclosed is an applicator, and a handle for an applicator. The applicator has at least one barrel and a piston moveable within the at least one barrel to stroke between a variable first position and a second position. In use, movement of the piston towards the first position can draw a first fluid into the barrel, and movement of the piston towards the second position can force the first fluid out of the barrel. The barrel has at least one fluid inlet valve to allow the fluid to flow into the at least one barrel at least under action of the piston, and at least one fluid outlet valve to allow the first fluid to flow out of the at least one barrel at least under action of the piston. A handle has a piston actuator assembly, housed at least in part within a body of the handle, operable to move the piston towards the second position to dispense the first fluid from the applicator.

Abstract: An applicator 102 has a fluid supply inlet (14), an outlet (4) and a barrel (1) having a barrel outlet (2) and a barrel inlet (15a). The barrel inlet (15) is in fluid communication, or selective fluid communication, with the fluid supply inlet (14). A one way outlet valve (3) is in fluid communication with the barrel outlet (2) and with the outlet (4). The applicator 100 has piston actuation means (32) for moving a piston (5) relative to the barrel (1). The applicator further comprises pressure limiting means (10) for limiting a maximum pressure of fluid entering the barrel (1) from the fluid supply inlet (14).

Abstract: The invention is directed to an animal marking and treatment apparatus. The marking apparatus is an animal treatment apparatus to apply an animal treatment to a surface or subcutaneous layer of an animal via an operative end. The marking apparatus includes a marking portion, attached to the animal treatment apparatus, and located at the operative end. The marking apparatus is located such that when the animal receives the treatment the marking portion marks the animal by stamping at the same time.

Abstract: A skin gripping means for use with an injector (200) is disclosed. In one embodiment the skin gripping means is a needle guard (100). An exterior surface (7) of the skin gripping means (100) is provided with a plurality of fingers (6) adapted to engage a subject's skin (9) when in use. A method of performing a subcutaneous injection is also disclosed with includes the steps of bringing a skin gripping means (100) of an injector (200) into contact with the skin (9) of a subject, moving the skin gripping means (100) substantially parallel to the skin (9) to thereby form a fold (10) in the skin, moving a needle (11) of the injector (200) into the fold (10) to a suitable position for a subcutaneous injection and injecting a substance through the needle (11).
