Abstract: A mattress arrangement including an outer perimeter frame structure having rigid supports extending thereabout. An opening at one end of the frame structure facilitates the insertion of a mattress core through that end in a "cassette-like" manner, with the outer end of the core forming an extension of the frame support structure.

Abstract: The present sofa bed includes a mattress supporting bed frame which is operable to longitudinally compress a portion of the mattress when the bed frame is moved to a folded and storage seat position. The bed frame or telescoping section which permits longitudinal expansion of the mattress when the bed frame is moved to an unfolded and extended bed position. A simple and lightweight bed frame operating and support linkage operates the telescoping bed section when moved between the stored and extended bed positions. The longitudinal compression of the mattress permits the mattress to be stored in a relatively narrow space and to be expanded to a full length bed dimension when moved to the unfolded and extended bed position.

Abstract: A hybrid flotation mattress of the type having a center water bag surrounded by at least one row of resilient bedding material is provided. A protective water resistant liner is further provided between the water bag and the resilient material as is a bridge liner on the top surface of the mattress, extending inwardly from the resilient material over the interface between the resilient material and the water bag.
