Abstract: A fire alarm system automatically adjusts sensitivity of individual sensors based on evaluation of background level over a period of time. High sensor signals which do not trigger a fire alarm may, after a delay time, result in decreased sensitivity to avoid false alarms. On the other hand, low peak values stored over a period on the order of months result in an automatic increase in sensitivity of the system. The sensitivity is adjusted by changing the delta threshold of an alarm threshold over a quiescent sensor signal average.

Abstract: A time recorder stores on and off times of technician repair jobs and receives repair order numbers and flat rate times through a key pad input. The time recorder prints flag tickets on adhesive-backed paper for application to repair orders. The system also prints daily time cards and efficiency in progress reports when requested by a supervisor. Technicians are identified to the time recorder by key pad input or by a bar code wand and supervisors are identified through key pad input or badges having magnetic stripes.

Abstract: An electronic heat detector provides a fire alarm with a rapid rate of rise of temperature. The rate of rise indication is obtained from a comparison of outputs from a first temperature sensor which responds rapidly to environmental temperature, referenced to a second temperature sensor which has an intermediate response between that of the first sensor and an electronics board. The second sensor is positioned within a protuberance from the heat detector housing.

Abstract: An improved time-registration device for recording date and work times on lines of a registration card including a day-program wheel of at least 31 sectors, of which the 29th to 31st sectors contain cams of varying height, and a month-program wheel with at least 12 sectors, each of said sectors having a cam height corresponding to the number of days in each month, scanners for the day- and month-program wheels operating together mechanically at the end of each month to operate a switch to advance the wheels for the following month, the improvement comprising the month-program wheel being frictionally driven by the day-program wheel at the end of each month.

Abstract: The flexitime recorder has a plurality of time store counters which are actuated by timing pulses transmitted by a generator, and there is a plurality of switches which are actuable by persons whose time is being recorded, in order to control the counters in accordance with their in-time. The flexitime recorder has a programming device for preventing the counters storing in-time outside predetermined periods including a daily set working time, and there is a registering device controlled by the timing pulses for registering the set working time each day.
