    Abstract: A compaction system includes a compaction cavity having an inlet opening sized to receive a bag containing liquids and solids, and a compaction ram movable within the compaction cavity to compact the bag. At least one of the compaction cavity and the compaction ram includes at least one piercing member arranged and configured to puncture the bag to permit release of the liquids from the bag. The released liquids are collected with a liquid collection member.
