Abstract: A marine anchor is described which has a shank having a leading end for attachment to a cable and a general double-bladed ploughshare shaped fluke fixed to the shank with the blades disposed symmetrically about the median plane of the shank. The leading ends of the blades terminate in a single apex and the trailing ends of each blade diverges outwardly from said medial plane, each blade having a generally inwardly dished shape. The blades can be curved or consist of at least two flat angled surfaces.
