Abstract: A system and method for automatically and dynamically initiating and establishing secure connections between a Server and a Client using a session control server (SCS). Both the Server and the Client are connected to an untrusted network (such as the Internet) through a Network Address Translator or Translation (NAT) router or a firewall. The SCS, independently trusted by both the Server and the Client, brokers the required connection parameters to establish a secure connection between the Server and the Client. The system and method does not require any user configuration on the Client and eliminates the need for the Server to accept explicit connection requests or packets from the Client, thereby allowing the Server firewall to always remain closed to all inbound traffic.

Abstract: A service provisioning system and method for providing remote access to digital services over a communications network, comprising a plurality of client devices connected to the communications network for requesting digital services from a plurality of service centers and presenting output from the digital services. The network operation center connected to the communications network authenticates client devices and users, manages sessions, and processes requests for digital services. A connector associated with each service center establishes a session with a client device specified by the network operation center and encapsulates the native protocols of the digital services within a remote interactive protocol. The remote interactive protocol includes information for generating a human-perceptible presentation on the client device, to provide a remote access to the digital services without modifying the hardware and software infrastructure of the service centers.

Abstract: According to some aspects, a method of performing a Universal Serial Bus (USB) data transfer between a server and a USB device connected over a network, the data transfer including a plurality of transactions between the server and the USB is provided. The method comprises performing at least one of the plurality of transactions between the server and the USB device via a network communication and emulating locally at least one of the plurality of transactions expected to be performed via a network communication to reduce a number of the plurality of transactions that are performed via network communications.

Abstract: According to some aspects, a method of providing services to a first device over a network using a network switching center adapted to locate servers capable of providing the services to the first device is provided. The method comprising acts of identifying a first service to be provided to the first device, providing notification, from the network switching center to a first server, that the remote device has requested the first service, providing, by the first server, the first service to the remote device, and indicating, by the first server to the network switching center, a second service to be provided to the remote device.
