  • Publication number: 20140355969
Abstract: A cartomizer section of an electronic cigarette can be connected to a battery section of the electronic cigarette. The cartomizer section comprises a liquid reservoir operable to store liquid material and a one-way valve. The one-way valve is operable to seal an end of the cartomizer section which is in fluid communication with the liquid reservoir. The one-way valve is configured to allow one directional air flow towards a user's mouth during a draw on the electronic cigarette so as to prevent back flow of vapor produced during operation of the electronic cigarette towards the battery section.

  • Publication number: 20140224267
Abstract: An electronic cigarette (“e-Cig”) may be wirelessly charged through an inductive charging system. A receiving coil in or on the e-Cig may be in proximity to a wireless charger that transmits electrical power to the battery of the e-Cig. Alignment of the receiving coil in the e-Cig with a charging base can wirelessly charge the battery of the e-Cig.

  • Publication number: 20140202472
Abstract: In an electronic cigarette of the sort having a housing, a power section, and an atomizer, at least a portion of a first flow stream passes through the atomizer. A mixing valve within the housing has a first input that receives the first flow stream, and a second input receiving a second flow stream (20) that avoids the atomizing element, and an output (34) connected in fluid continuity to the opening in the proximal end, wherein the output conducts a mixture of the first flow stream (25) and the second flow stream (20). The apparatus further includes a regulating element (42) for the mixing valve in order to control a composition of the mixture.

  • Publication number: 20140202474
Abstract: Assembly and quality of an electronic cigarette (“e-Cig”) may be tested and verified using imaging techniques. Infrared (“IR”) imaging may identify whether a temperature is uniform in an e-Cig during usage. Potential burning locations may be identified through the imaging by identifying locations whose temperature is unusually high or non-uniform. This temperature information may be used to calibrate the power of the e-Cig.
