Abstract: Techniques and systems for providing services to a mobile device allow settings on the mobile device to be provisioned over the air. In response to a request for mobile service subscription options received from the mobile device, data relating to mobile service subscription options, for selection by a user of the mobile device, may be sent to the mobile device over a wireless communication path. A selection of one or more subscription options may be received from the mobile device over the wireless communication path, and a service corresponding to the selected subscription options may be activated in response to the selection. Settings associated with the selected subscription options may be downloaded over the air to the mobile device, which may store the settings to enable the mobile device to access the subscription.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for managing streaming of video content to a client device includes providing the video content to a content distribution network for storage in a plurality of geographically separated resources of the content distribution network, dynamically selecting an advertisement media clip based on statistical information associated with a user of the client device, and receiving, from the client device via a packet-based telecommunication network, signaling to have the stored video content streamed to the client device.

Abstract: Methods, systems comprising one or more computer systems including a combination of hardware and software, and computer program products store, in a database associated with a user account, an inventory of computer applications resident on a first mobile device. An indication is received from the first mobile device that one or more of the computer applications resident on the first mobile device are to be resident on the second mobile device. An identifier corresponding to the user account is received from the second mobile device. The method, system, and computer program product determine, based on the capabilities of the second mobile device, which of the computer applications included in the inventory are compatible with the second mobile device, and, after receiving, from the second mobile device, the identifier corresponding to the user account, transmit, to the second mobile device, the computer applications included in the inventory that were determined to be compatible with the second mobile device.

Abstract: Among other things, generating a dynamic digital data file for transferring to a mobile communication device includes receiving from a user a phone number associated with a mobile communication device. Also, a user selected digital data file is received. Authorization to access the received digital data file is verified. When detected that the received digital data file is verified as an authorized file, the user is able to edit the received digital data file to generate mobile content. A data connection with the mobile communication device associated with the received phone number is also established. Further, one or more operational parameters of the mobile communication device based on the established data connection are determined. The generated mobile content is transcoded into a format compatible to the determined operational parameters, and the transcoded mobile content is delivered to the mobile communication device.

An advertisement may initially be stored on a mobile device. Subsequently, when a wireless data communication involving the mobile device is initiated, the advertisement may be presented on the mobile device during at least a portion of the wireless data communication.
