Patents Assigned to Sivyer Steel Corporation
  • Patent number: 5722607
Abstract: The invention concerns itself with a hammermill, specifically for the fragmentation of metal car bodies, equipped with a shaft to which radially pointing rotor arms are attached, to the ends of which movable hammers are attached in the direction of the shaft rotation. The hammers are individually attached to the rotor arms, are U-shaped and embrace the end and sides of the rotor arms, thereby protecting the rotor arm ends and sides without requiring additional protective caps. On one of the preferred embodiments the positioning of the hammers is configured eccentrically so that an adjustment of the travel circle radii of the hammers is possible allowing greatly extended periods of operation of the hammermill.

  • Patent number: 4915310
Abstract: A replaceable, protective end cap assembly for the end of a spider arm for a rotary hammer assembly, the end cap assembly including a side plate assembly and a protective cap. The side plate assembly including a pair of side plates connected by upper and lower cross members that matingly engage the leading edge of the spider arm with the side plates covering the side wall surfaces in the impact area of the spider arm. The protective cap includes a shroud that overlies the front surface of the spider arm as well as the peripheral edges of the side plates and the side plate assembly and end caps being retained on the spider arms by the hammer shaft.

  • Patent number: 4519551
Abstract: The tip of a spider arm of a rotor of a reversible hammer mill is protected from wear and damage by a pair of replaceable caps. Each of the caps has a protective shroud for protecting a portion of the extremity of the tip and an adjacent edge of the spider arm. The caps also each have a relatively narrow web which is sized to fit within and cooperate with the web of another cap in substantially filling an open-ended slot in the spider arm. The webs of the two caps are introduced into the slot from opposite ends of the slot and held in place by a hammer pin which extends through collinear openings in the webs and the spider arm.

  • Patent number: 4290545
Abstract: Replaceable protective means for protecting an end disc of a rotor shredder from excessive wear includes a protective cap of hardened, wear resistant metal, and at least two pins and washers of readily weldable metal. The protective cap has a U-shaped channel for receiving a curved portion of the periphery of the end disc. The opposed walls of the U-shaped channel each have at least one pair of pin-receiving openings and the openings in each wall are aligned with those in the opposed wall. When the cap is positioned in place on the end disc with the pin receiving openings in the opposed walls of the cap aligned with openings which extend through the end disc, the pins which have enlarged heads at one end which are larger than the openings in the disc can be inserted into the aligned openings and secured in place by welding a washer which also is larger in diameter than the openings in the disc to the other end of each of the pins.

  • Patent number: 4146184
Abstract: A shredder for reducing scrap materials such as scrapped automobiles to pieces of a smaller size includes a shredder housing having an inlet and an outlet, rotary hammer means positioned in said housing, cutter means, and means for rotating said hammer means to co-act with said cutter means to reduce the material to smaller pieces. The outlet is closed by a door which contains a discharge grate through which shredded pieces must pass to leave the housing. The door is normally locked, but can be opened from the outside to permit unshreddables to be readily removed from the shredder and to replace the grate when necessary. In one embodiment the outlet is located in the end wall of said housing preferably about 180.degree. from the inlet and the door contains a grate which is comprised of a plurality of grate segments.
