Patent number: 7540364Abstract: A trigger latch assembly for releasably securing a latch by pivotal rotation comprising a latch trigger pivotally joined to a rotatable latch cover. The trigger latch assembly may be attached to a variety of devices including luggage type transport cases. A latch trigger biasing member is attached to the latch trigger and also engages the latch cover. The latch trigger has a perpendicularly extending member having a detent which pivotally engages a retaining lip on a device to be latched when downward force is applied to the latch cover which pivotally rotates the latch trigger in cooperation with the biasing member, thereby latching closed the device. The latch is released by pivotably rotating the trigger latch towards the latch cover to displace the detent from engagement with the lip to thereby unlatch the device.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2004Date of Patent: June 2, 2009Assignee: SKB CorporationInventor: David B. Publication number: 20040195125Abstract: There is disclosed herein a tube case having first and second sections wherein the open ends of the two sections can be slid together to provide a carrying case for elongated items, such as fishing rods, rifles, golf clubs, golf bags and the like. One section is smaller in cross-section than the other such that the closed end of that section can be inserted into the open end of the other section to provide a more compact assembly for storage and shipment. The sections of the tube case are designed so that a portion or an edge at the open end of the outer case abuts a shoulder on a latch plate or bracket on the other case to both provide a stop when the open ends of the two sections are placed together for carrying an article, and further to properly orient the ends of the two sections so that latches can be readily and simply engaged and latched to lock together the two sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2004Publication date: October 7, 2004Applicant: SKB CorporationInventor: David B.
