Abstract: A method of assembling a conveyor belt scraper which includes at least one scraping edge fixed to a support at least by means of a biasing member which includes the steps of prestressing the biasing member in a first sense, maintaining the biasing member prestressed, and mounting the conveyor belt scraper adjacent a surface of the belt whereby, in use, when the scraping edge exerts a scraping action on the belt and is deflected away from the belt, the biasing member is further stressed in the first sense.
Abstract: A torsion unit (14) for use with a conveyor belt scraper (12) which includes a tubular component (36), an extension member (38) which is located at least partly inside the tubular component (36), at least one resiliently deformable torsion element inside the tubular component which acts between opposed surfaces of the tubular component and the extension member, and a flange on the tubular component.
Abstract: A scraper assembly cartridge which includes a base, a bracing member which extends from the base, and a plurality of scraping elements which are fixed to the bracing member. The base of the cartridge is engaged with an elongate member which extends transversely to a conveyor belt so that scraping edges of the scraping elements are on or below a line which extends radially from a center of a head pulley to an axis about which the member and the base are pivotally movable.
Abstract: The invention provides a torsion holder for a conveyor belt scraper which includes a first tubular member with formations which are engageable with fixed structure, a second member which is located at least partly inside the first member, torsion mechanism between the first and second members for resiliently restraining relative rotational movement of the second member inside the first member, a scraper blade carrier, and attachment mechanism engaged with the second member and the scraper blade carrier.
Abstract: A conveyor belt scraper which includes an elastomeric base member, a holder engaged with the base member and a wear resistant scraping insert engaged with the holder.
Abstract: A conveyor belt scraper which includes a bracket which is formed with two arms which extend in opposing directions, and two base pieces which are respectively engageable with the arms.
Abstract: A skirt seal arrangement for a conveyor belt which includes an elongate track element and an elongate skirt seal which has a base which is slidably engageable with the track element and a lower edge which is engageable in sealing contact with an opposing surface of the conveyor belt.
