Abstract: A prosthesis is disclosed which includes a filler material comprising a biocompatible granular substance. The prosthesis includes in a particular embodiment a human mammary prosthesis. The granular substance comprises a mixture of synthetic biocompatible cells and a lubricant. Also disclosed is an osmotic barrier which reduces the flow of lubricant from the prosthesis and the flow of body fluids into the prosthesis.
