    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for distributing bandwidth, on one or more first ports having a maximum bandwidth, the bandwidth usage being monitored and compared to a percentage of the maximum bandwidth. If the bandwidth usage at the first port(s) exceeds the percentage, a bandwidth of data received on the first port(s) and forwarded to a local user on one or more second port(s) being reduced so as to reduce the bandwidth of the data at the first port(s).
