Abstract: An animal collar device may include a circuit board, a sensing component carried by the circuit board and configured to collect data about an animal, a first elongate patch antenna carried by the circuit board and having a first longitudinal side and a second longitudinal side opposing the first longitudinal side, and a first end and a second end opposing the first end. The first and second ends are between the first and second longitudinal sides. The second longitudinal side may include a slots. The animal collar device may include a processor carried by the circuit board and coupled to the sensing component and the first elongate patch antenna, the processor configured to communicate the data about the animal to a base station and a mobile device.
