Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the physicochemical properties of a nanoscale system (NSS) using analytical ultracentrifugation), comprising the steps of generating a multi-dimensional sedimentation analysis map associated with the NSS of interest; selecting sample-dependent parameters; determining sedimentation coefficient value/parameter in the sample; inserting sample sedimentation coefficient values onto the multi-dimensional sedimentation analysis map to obtain a NSS sample map value; and inferring from the NSS sample map value the physicochemical properties of the NSS sample. Furthermore, the invention relates to a system for performing the method, a computer program product and a computer readable storage medium.

Abstract: The invention discloses a reactor for preparing a formulation. The reactor comprises at least two apertures, a base and at least one sidewall extending flush therefrom, wherein the base and the sidewall together define a mixing chamber with a height hM and at least one axis of symmetry arranged substantially perpendicular to the base and at least one distance r from the sidewall. A first aperture is arranged within the base or adjacent to the base in the sidewall of the mixing chamber at a height hA ranging from 0.6 to 0.0 hM in order to introduce free-flowing materials and/or mixtures to the mixing chamber. The first aperture is configured with a non-return valve disposed therein or adjacent thereto, the non-return valve permitting the introduction of free-flowing materials to the mixing chamber through the aperture, but preventing outflow of free-flowing materials from the mixing chamber through the aperture.
Abstract: New poly(ethylene imine)-based copolymers for bonding to and releasing genetic material, in particular DNA/RNA, and method for the production and use of same. The copolymers according to a compound of the general Formula I: can be produced at low costs and with little expenditure of time, are tailor-made and have a high functionality for universal effective uses without restriction of their bonding affinity to genetic material.

Abstract: The invention relates to a nanostructured delivery system comprising at least one polymer and/or at least one lipid and at least one polymethine dye, wherein the at least one polymethine dye acting as a targeting unit brings about the targeted transport of the nanostructured delivery system into a target issue. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition and the uses of the nanostructured delivery system for transporting said system and, optionally, a pharmaceutical active ingredient into the target tissue, as well for treating liver and/or kidney diseases.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for acquiring data in order to determine organ function, in particular the liver or kidney function, comprising one or more polymethine fluorescent dyes having a fluorescence emission maximum, measured in ethanol, of less than or equal to 820 nm, and to the use of dyes as markers for acquiring data in order to determine the organ function. The invention further relates to a kit for determining an organ function with a marker dye, and to a device for acquiring data in the method.
