Abstract: A method for the display of an image in a display area, the display area having a pixel density, the image being stored on a server in a plurality of versions, each version of the image having a respective image size, the method comprising: detecting the pixel density of the display area; determining a first version of the image to request from the server based on the pixel density of the display area, the first version of the image having a first image size; requesting the first version of the image; receiving the first version of the image; and displaying the first version of the image in the display area.

Abstract: A method for the display of an image in a display area, the method comprising: loading a first image file defining a first image comprising a main image and a watermark image overlaying the main image using a first transformation; loading a second image file defining a second image comprising the main image and the watermark image overlaying the main image using a second transformation; and alternating between displaying the first image and the second image in a location within the display area so that the watermark image is imperceptible to a user viewing the display area.

Abstract: A method for the display of an image in a display area, the method comprising: requesting, from a server, a scrambled image file using an image identifier, the scrambled image file containing the image in a scrambled form; receiving the scrambled image file; dividing the scrambled image file into a plurality of image fragments, the image fragments having a first order within the scrambled image file; and rendering the image fragments on to the display area in a second order derived from the image identifier to display the image in unscrambled form.
