Abstract: A table saw for use in dismantling wood pallets is provided with a table and band saw blade having course over table to cut nails between face boards and stringers as pallet is moved through blade. Table has convex, arcuate fence about which pallet may be twisted to facilitate cutting of nails. Table is shiftable horizontally relative to the saw blade to adjust position for use by single operator with short pallets or two operators with long pallets.
Abstract: Apparatus for handling pallets for inspection and sorting includes an in-feed conveyor mechanism for conveying in index fashion a stack of pallets positioned on edges toward the discharge end of the conveyor whereby the pallets will drop off the discharge end one at a time. A catch plate is provided to catch a pallet as it falls off the end of the in-feed conveyor and permit it to tilt about its lower edge onto an off-bearing conveyor. A retractable cushion arm is provided on the off-bearing conveyor to interrupt the motion of the tilting pallet and lower it gently onto the second conveyor. The exposure of a pallet face at the time it is at the end of the in-feed conveyor permits visual examination of such face, the opposite face being exposed for examination when the pallet tilts onto the off-bearing conveyor. The apparatus enhances the rapidity with which pallets can be handled and reduces necessity for manual handling of pallets.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for assembling pallets which includes an assembly table which is pivotable on an axis, supports for supporting a plurality of first deck boards, and a displaceable support for holding up the underside of the pallet when the table has been inverted, the displaceable support being displaceable to an out of the way position to permit the pallet to drop from the table when assembly has been completed.

Abstract: An apparatus for handling pallets is provided. The apparatus includes a tiltable pallet stack receiver for receiving an upright stack of pallets at a pallet stack station and for tilting the stack downwardly to a generally horizontal position, a mechanism for laterally displacing the stack from a position in endwise alignment with the pallet stack station to one in endwise alignment with a pallet sorting station which is laterally offset from the pallet stack station, and a pallet indexer for displacing the horizontally disposed stack in an endwise direction toward the pallet sorting station as pallets are removed from an end of the stack. The invention thus provides a pallet sorting capability which is faster and involves less manual labor than necessary with conventional sorting systems.
