  • Patent number: 5408169
Abstract: A control device for an asynchronous motor (2), notably intended for the drive system of an electric vehicle, comprises electric supply source (10) able to produce an AC supply voltage whose frequency (FAL) and amplitude (UAL) may be adjusted independently of one another. For a given frequency of the supply voltage, the amplitude of the voltage is able to vary between a minimum value and a maximum value, the difference between the frequency of rotation of the turning magnetic field in the vicinity of the rotor and the frequency of rotation of the rotor being maintained substantially constant as long as the amplitude of the supply voltage is less than the maximum value. Once the maximum value has been reached, the torque on the shaft of motor (2) is increased by increasing the slip.

  • Patent number: 5363350
Abstract: A watch case is made of gold with a caseband-bezel (11) hollowed-out in order to diminish the weight of gold as much as possible. To avoid dents in the caseband-bezel the hollow (26) is filled with metal, for example brass, which also serves as a casing ring (10) to secure the movement (13) to the case. The installation of such casing ring in the caseband hollow is possible only if the ring is made in at least four segments (1, 2, 3, 4 ) which are placed side-by-side and which are held in place by means guided in a groove (6) formed in the ring.

  • Patent number: 5355571
Abstract: In order to open the watch case (1) by extraction of the crystal (2) such case is secured in an enclosure (3) after its stem and crown have been removed. Next, a suction cup (4) is applied to the crystal, such suction cup being maneuverable from outside the enclosure by means of a handle (40). By means of a pump controlled by a lever (37) the enclosure is subjected to a predetermined overpressure, following which a pulling force (A) is exerted on the suction cup until extraction of the crystal. The overpressure being the same at both the exterior and interior of the case, no displacement of air is brought about and hence no damage to the watch mechanism when the crystal is separated from the case.

  • Patent number: 5322141
Abstract: The wheel drive module comprises a motor (9), a casing (1) partially housing the motor, a wheel support platform (22), a wheel (R) rigidly mounted on the platform, a reduction transmission (31) engaging directly between the motor and the wheel, and a single main transmission shaft (12) bearing the rotor (13) of the motor as well as an input member (35) of the transmission. The casing (1) comprises on the side of the wheel, a fixing shank (18) externally receiving a bearing for said platform (22). The length of the shank is equal to the distance (d) between the input member (35) of the transmission (31) and the free end of the rear part of the platform (22). The reduction transmission (31) is housed in the platform (22). Finally a portion of the main transmission shaft that is torsionally deformable is housed inside the fixing shank.

  • Patent number: 5299179
Abstract: This pushpiece (1) for a timepiece includes a movable head (3) slidingly mounted on a tube (4), said head partially enveloping such tube. The head exhibits a central cylindrical core (5) which penetrates into the tube, at least one O ring seal (6) being located between the tube and the core. A return spring (7) urges the head towards the exterior. The core (5) is extended by a stem (8), the diameter of which is greater than the diameter of the core, the spring being arranged between the stem and the tube. In this manner the spring is located in a sealed zone of the pushpiece and the mean diameter of the O ring seal is less than the mean diameter of the spring.

  • Patent number: 5295463
Abstract: The invention discloses an internal combustion engine in which the open housing oil pressure pump (1) is closed by securing it directly onto the cylinder head (5), the moving elements of the pump being fixed to the camshaft (20) by means of an axial abutment (29). Sealing is assured on the one hand by means of an O ring (25) between the pump (1) and the head (5), on the other hand by means of a lip seal (45) and a breather (51). The axial play (44), also affecting the sealing, is maintained at the desired amount by means of the levelled washer (47). The application is to all engines for which reduction in weight, volume and maintenance cost is sought.

  • Patent number: 5272292
Abstract: The present invention concerns an irreversible arrangement for interrupting the functioning of an apparatus controlled by an electronic system. The purpose of such invention is to provide an arrangement which can be easily manipulated by an inexperienced user and which permits him to interrupt the functioning of the apparatus immediately and definitely. This purpose is attained with the help of of an irreversible arrangement for interrupting the functioning of an apparatus (1) controlled by an electronic system (15), characterized in that it comprises at least one interruption element (17) movable between a rest position allowing the functioning of said apparatus (1) and an interruption position in which it brings about the irreversible interruption of the functioning of said apparatus (1) by breaking an essential element of said electronic system (15) such essential element being necessary for the functioning of the apparatus (1). This arrangement is more specifically intended for medical apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5257247
Abstract: This valve (1) for a watch case comprises a head (3) and a tube (4) onto which the head can be screwed. A stem (8) fixed to a core (5) borne by the head is surrounded by a return spring (7) bearing, on the one hand, under the head and, on the other hand, onto a bottom (3) exhibited by the tube through a ring (14) and a first packing (6). A second packing (18) is mounted under the head in line with the tube. When the head is screwed down the second packing (18) is compressed and the valve is inoperative and at the same time totally sealed. When the head is unscrewed the first packing (6) is able to rise up against the return force of spring (7) if the fluid pressure prevailing within the case is higher than that on the exterior thereof. An excessive interior pressure which can damage the case is thus avoided.
