Abstract: An object of the present invention is to reduce the size of an entire device by simplifying a device configuration, and also accurately measure the stroke position of a rod. A lower electrode 2 is mounted on an upper portion of an electrode holder tube 3. A rod 4 that is vertically movable within the electrode holder tube 3 is divided into a first rod 4a and a second rod 4b. The rod 4 is urged upward by a compressed spring 5 that is interposed between a spring receiving seat 14 fixed to the upper end surface of the second rod 4b and an insulating adapter 7. Pressurized air supplied from a pressurized air supply pipe 15 to assist the urging force is received by a pressure receiving portion on the lower surface of the spring receiving seat 14, thereby assisting the spring 5 to urge the rod 4 upward. A magnetic sensor 10 is disposed below the second rod 4b, and a lower end portion of the second rod 4b is directly connected to a detector 17 of the magnetic sensor 10.

  • Patent number: 5894117
Abstract: A keyboard switch having a keytop which is displaced vertically by a cross link that comprises a first link member and a second link. A front edge side of the keytop comes slightly lower than its rear edge side and the cross link is configured so that the pushdown stroke is greater on the rear edge side than on the front edge side and that the top face of the keytop. When the keytop is pushed down completely, it comes almost parallel to a frame of the keyboard switch. This configuration, when adopted, for example, to a notebook type personal computer with a lid, results in sliding an elastic portion which holds up the keytop in interlock with the lid closing, thus the keytop, as a whole horizontal. This configuration wherefore allows achieving otherwise contradictory effects of a great stroke when the lid is opened and a thinner notebook when the lid is closed. Further, the top surface of the keytop when it becomes nearly parallel, facilitates character printing improving the printing yield.

  • Patent number: 5725400
Abstract: The terminal portion 83 of a contact 82 is of a groove type, with a larger diameter than the lead wire diameter, and includes small holes 84 drilled and installed in the bottom of the groove. By such a construction, when the solder 19 flows in between the terminal portion 83 and the lead wire by the surface tension, the air between the terminal portion 83 and the lead wire discharges through the small holes 84, thus preventing formation of an air layer between the terminal portion 83 and the lead wire. The holes 84 permit solder to enter the holes to discharge the air, but are sufficiently small to prevent solder from flowing therethrough and dripping out of the groove. By observing whether or not the solder has flowed into the small holes 84 it is possible to confirm whether the solder has entered the clearance between the lead wire and the terminal.

  • Patent number: 5718605
Abstract: A connector socket features a shield case 44, an upper lid of the shield 45, and a shield base plate 46 which are each made of conductive metal plate, and which enclose and cover a housing 43 in such a way that the housing 43, which is composed of the insulating material, can be connected to a wiring plate 14. The shield case 44 includes a side plate portion 58 which fits along both sides of the housing 43 in a manner which engages centrally located engaging portion 56, a lid which covers the upper portion of the shield case 44, and a shield base which is applied to the lower surface of the housing 43. The three pieces are fixed by way of screw fastening pieces 74, 61 and 69 which are respectively integral with the shield case 44, upper lid of the shield 45 and the shield base plate 46, into a single unit and has a connection piece 62 which is integral with the shield base plate 46 and which extends from one side of the shield case and contacts the wiring plate 14.

  • Patent number: 5662480
Abstract: In a surface-mounted type coaxial connector where a coaxial cable 10 and a substrate 12 are electrically connected by fitting the plug 44 connected to the coaxial cable 10 into the receptacle 80 surface-mounted on the substrate 12, a central contact 51 of a plug 44 is made from a male contact and a central contact 82 of the receptacle 80 is made from a female contact reducing thus the height Hp of a shell 46 of the plug 44. As necessity arises, the electrical connection of the central conductor 18 of the coaxial cable 10 is positioned opposite the attaching portion of the plug 44 with the coaxial cable 10 as seen from the central contact 51, reducing thus the length Lp of the shield cover 45 of the plug 44.

  • Patent number: 5396038
Abstract: A key stem of a keyboard switch includes an outer slide and an inner slide. When a key top is struck, the outer slide slides inside of an outer guide, and the inner slide slides inside an inner guide. A first moment point is developed between the outer slide and the outer guide, while a second moment point is developed between the inner slide and the inner guide. A taper at the bottom of the outer slide prevents the second moment point being developed in that location. The reduced horizontal distance between the two moment points helps prevent binding of the key when an actuating force is applied off the axis of the key top. A relationship is disclosed for avoiding sticking or binding in which the horizontal distance between the two moment points, times a coefficient of friction, is less than the vertical distance between the planes of the two moment points.
