Patents Assigned to SMS Demag Innse SpA
  • Patent number: 6834825
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (12) for winding up and unwinding metal strips, used in particular for cold-rolling. This device has a spindle (21) which is mounted inside a hollow shaft and onto which the strip is wound; for this purpose the spindle is rotated by a motor (20) which actuates the hollow shaft by means of a mechanical transmission. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the position of the hollow shaft along the axis of rotation may be adjusted by means of hydraulic actuators, in such a way as to compensate for any winding defects in the coil present on the spindle.

  • Patent number: 6592265
Abstract: The invention relates generally to rolling stands (1) for strips and the like, of the type with crossing rolls (10, 11, 12, 13). More specifically, the invention relates to a special bearing (30) which allows the angular adjustment of the crossing rolls (10-13) even under load, that is to say, during rolling. The bearing (30) is interposed between the parts which in the course of the angular adjustment, move relative to one another and onto which the rolling forces are transmitted. According to a preferred embodiment, the bearing of the invention is formed by two rolling-contact thrust bearings superposed eccentrically one above the other.

  • Patent number: 6276182
Abstract: The invention relates to a mill for rolling pipes or other bodies such as flat blooms, bars, rods and the like. The rolling mill is formed by an outer load-bearing structure in which holders are accommodated so as to be extractable therefrom; in the holders there are mounted lever arms (18, 19, 20) that are pivotable transversely to the rolling axis along which the pipes or bodies to be rolled advance. The arms support the working rolls (48, 49, 50) at one end and, at the other end, are secured to the respective holder by means of a pin (22, 23, 24). In the rolling mill of the invention, there are advantageously means for rotating the olders about the rolling axis; this enables the rolls (48-50) to be brought back to the ideal working condition when their dimensions are reduced as a result of periodic machining to which they are subjected for maintenance and their working attitude can no longer be reestablished solely by the swinging movement of the lever arms (18-20) that support them.
