Abstract: A liquid polymer having a very high viscosity of between 250 cSt and 15,000 cSt at 210.degree.F, is prepared by polymerizing one, or a mixture of more than one, n-alpha olefine represented by the formula R - CH = CH.sub.2, in which R is an alkyl radical containing from 6 to 8 carbon atoms, in the presence of a catalyst system formed at a temperature in the range of 0.degree.-150.degree.C by a catalyst consisting of TiCl.sub.4 and a polyiminoalane having the formula: ##EQU1## IN WHICH N IS A WHOLE NUMBER NOT GREATER THAN 50 AND R is an isopropyl radical, and in an atmosphere consisting essentially of an inert gas. The liquid polymer of very high viscosity so formed is useful as a lubricant.
Abstract: A self-propelled vehicular radiography device for traveling within a pipeline includes a drive system, having a sensing means responsive to a radiation source on the exterior of the pipeline. The outside source positions a panoramic radiography source carried on the vehicle adjacent the weld to be inspected. Upon removal of the outside source a programmed radiography sequence is commenced. A pendulum steering means is utilized to maintain the device at the bottom of the pipeline.
Abstract: A continuous bi-compound bulky yarn consisting of a pair of acrylic polymeric components differing from each other in some of their properties is prepared by spinning those components in solution to produce a spun yarn which is drawn and then, successively, passed through a first oven heated to a temperature in the range of 130.degree.-250.degree.C, subjected to a false twist by means of a rotating spindle, passed through a second oven heated to a temperature in the range of 120.degree.-240.degree.C, and wound on a holder.
Abstract: A process is described wherein prilled urea of low biuret content is prepared by crystallizing urea of low biuret content by melting from only 30 to 70 percent of the urea crystals through the application of heat thereto, and forming a heterogeneous mixture of the unmelted crystals in the melted urea. That mixture is then fed to conventional pelleting apparatus.
