  • Patent number: 10783927
Abstract: A system is provided that presents video content on an electronic device such that, when a user swipes to dismiss the video content, non-video summary information or contextual material about the video content is automatically displayed in place of the video content. The non-video summary information is presented on a summary card dragged on-screen responsive to user swipe input. If, for example, the user swipes to dismiss a video advertisement before an informational payload of the video advertisement has been delivered, the informational payload can automatically be displayed in text format on a summary card dragged by the user in replacement of the dismissed video advertisement.

  • Patent number: 10785597
Abstract: An engagement tracking system monitors user interactions with media items to calculate an engagement score of the media item. The engagement tracking system may be or include a group of one or more server machines configured to detect an exposure of a client device to a media item maintained by the engagement tracking system. In response to detecting the exposure of the client device to the media item, the engagement tracking system tracks a location of the client device based on access requests to location based media items. The engagement tracking system may thereby monitor client devices exposed to the media item in order to calculate an engagement score of the media item.

  • Patent number: 10776899
Abstract: A virtual shockwave creation system comprises an eyewear device that includes a frame, a temple connected to a lateral side of the frame, and a depth-capturing camera. Execution of programming by a processor configures the virtual shockwave creation system to generate, for each of multiple initial depth images, a respective shockwave image by applying a transformation function to the initial three-dimensional coordinates. The virtual shockwave creation system creates a warped shockwave video including a sequence of the generated warped shockwave images. The virtual shockwave creation system presents, via an image display, the warped shockwave video.

  • Patent number: 10778884
Abstract: A portable electronic device with image capturing capabilities automatically or semi-automatically adjusts one or more image capturing parameters based on an input attribute of user engagement with a single-action haptic input mechanism. For example, the duration for which a single-action control button carried on a frame of the device is pressed automatically determines an image stabilization mode for on-board processing of captured image data. In one example, an above-threshold press duration automatically activates a less rigorous image stabilization mode, while button release before expiry of the threshold automatically activates a more rigorous photo stabilization mode.

  • Patent number: 10779113
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for receiving a first message associated with a first sponsor and a second message associated with a second sponsor for inclusion in a message collection. The systems and methods determine a first priority parameter associated with the first message based on sponsored content, and a second priority parameter associated with the second message based on sponsored content. Based on a determination that there is insufficient message inventory to include both the first message and the second message in the message collection, the systems and methods prioritize the first message associated with the first sponsor in the message collection and excluding the second message associated with the second sponsor in the message collection, based on an amount of consideration associated with the first priority parameter received from the first sponsor and an amount of consideration associated with the second priority parameter received from the second sponsor.

  • Patent number: 10768639
Abstract: Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for detecting and interpreting motion of a device and a remote object to control operations of the device. The systems and methods identify a sensor input within a drone. The sensor input indicates movement of the drone within a three dimensional space. The systems and methods determine one or more movement attributes from the sensor input and, in response to the one or more movement attributes, selects one or more maneuvers corresponding to at least one movement attribute. The system and methods then execute the one or more maneuvers by controlling one or more drone control components to move the drone within the three dimensional space.

  • Patent number: 10764053
Abstract: Embodiments for device pairing using optical codes are described. One embodiment is a wearable device with an image sensor configured to capture an image including a first optical code from a first host device. The wearable device decodes the first optical code, and in response to the first optical code, initiates broadcast of a pairing advertisement. The host device displays a second optical code in response to the pairing advertisement, and the wearable device captures and processes the second optical code to determine a host pairing advertisement code. The wearable device then, in response to the second optical code, initiate broadcast of a second pairing advertisement including the host pairing advertisement code. In various embodiments, a secure wireless channel is then established and used for further secure communications.

  • Patent number: 10764556
Abstract: A depth sculpturing system comprises an eyewear device that includes a frame, a temple connected to a lateral side of the frame, and a depth-capturing camera. The depth sculpturing system further includes a user input device. Execution of programming by a processor configures the depth sculpturing system to perform functions to track, via the user input device, motion of a two-dimensional input selection from an initial touch point to a final touch point. The depth sculpturing system determines a rotation matrix between an initial ray and a final ray that project to the initial touch point and the final touch point, correspondingly. The depth sculpturing system generates a depth sculptured image by applying the rotation matrix to vertices of an initial depth image. The depth sculpturing system presents, via an image display, the depth sculptured image.
