  • Patent number: 5730185
Abstract: A pressure locking dispenser half which securely locks with a receptacle half which comprises a connector, a barrel sleeve, and a moveable adaptor. The connector includes first and second passageways. The first passageway of the connector further includes a first port and the second passageway includes a second port, a first seal and a second seal residing between the connector and the adaptor. The adaptor engages the barrel sleeve. The barrel and adaptor include a vent passageway. A spacer resides between the first and second seals maintaining separation of the first and second seals. The moveable adaptor positions the first and second seals in one of a plurality of positions with respect to the connector. A dispenser valve 12 acts in combination with a retainer, a sliding sleeve, and a locking sleeve to pressure lock the dispenser half and the receptacle half together under certain circumstances. Certain positions of the adaptor allow the venting of the dispenser half and the receptacle half.

  • Patent number: 5630444
Abstract: The invention is a bellows valve which seals the stem of the valve. Dirt and other contaminants are trapped by the bellows. The valve includes a cover having a sintered metal filter therein. The filter permits gas to flow therethrough but does not permit dirt or other particulate contamination to flow therethrough. Pressure is equalized across the wails of the bellows allowing the valve to operate at high pressures while ensuring that the gas or fluid transported through the valve is kept clean.

  • Patent number: 5526834
Abstract: An apparatus for precision cleaning with carbon dioxide includes a pressure vessel having a removable cleaning drum with a sanitized work zone. The sanitized work zone is defined by an impermeable drum body having a removable exit filter to ensure that circulating cleaning fluid does not redeposit contaminants on the parts. The carbon dioxide is maintained in liquid form in the storage vessel, raised above its critical temperature by the preheater, pumped into the pressure vessel to achieve critical pressure, circulated through the work zone for a predetermined period of time, and removed through the let-down valve.

  • Patent number: 5337782
Abstract: A hydraulic coupler half simple enough for use in miniature couplings is disclosed. Both the relief ports and the main fluid ports are in the pintle. The relief ports are uncovered by a hyperextension of the pintle; the main fluid ports are uncovered by retraction of a sliding sleeve around the pintle. The pintle has a single annular contact point with the coupler body and clearances between the walls so that exact alignment is not necessary for connection. The nipple half is conventional.

  • Patent number: 5325890
Abstract: A sanitary coupling comprising a coupler member and a nipple member. The coupler member and the nipple member have first and second passageways including first and second transverse ports and first and second longitudinal bores such that, when engaged, fluid and/or fluid and solids may flow unobstructed through the coupler and nipple members. Means for orienting the coupler member with respect to the nipple member provide alignment of said passageways of said nipple and coupler members with respect to each other for full, unobstructed flow.

  • Patent number: 5103868
Abstract: In a coupling including female and male coupler means for longitudinally coupling and uncoupling to provide a longitudinal fluid passage therethrough, the passage having at least one check member disposed in the through passage, which check member is moved from the blocked and unblocked positions by the uncoupling and coupling of the couplers, a valve member being resiliently biased to a blocked position and having a gasket, sealing member to seal against fluid loss, the improvement comprising a gasket support comprising concentric sleeves which define a variable channel for holding the sealing member and which move independently of each other and where when the check member is in the blocked and unblocked positions the gasket member is subjected to axial compression and into a sealing relationship and when the check member in between the blocked and unblocked positions the axial compression is relieved.

  • Patent number: 5063965
Abstract: An improved undersea coupler in which a fluid passage is provided in each coupling half. The opening of each passage proximal to the fluid source is controlled by a poppet valve. A sliding sleeve covers the other port of each passage, distal to the fluid source. These distal ports coincide when the coupler is connected, at which position the sliding sleeves are retracted. Sealing between the distal ports and the environment is accomplished by two metal seals backed up by two secondary elastomeric seals. Because the seal arrangement is balanced, and because of the passage design, the system pressure does not cause a high separation force.
