Abstract: A mixture containing cyclo-olefin in concentrations of from 10 to 40% is jected to a selective ozonation step to produce a heavy phase containing a mono-ozonide of the cyclo-olefin. The heavy phase is insoluble in the mixture and therefore settles and is drawn off and subjected to a transposition step to remove a single unsaturation, and produces an acidic aldehyde, which is thereafter subjected to an amination or hydrogenation process to produce unsaturated products having important applications as polymers or copolymers.
