Abstract: A modular construction road barrier suitable to gradually absorb the impact energy of vehicles has flexible vessels for pneumatically absorbing the energy deriving from an impact, preferably in combination with a structure which absorbs friction controlled by the mutual sliding of the barrier elements. The friction absorbing structure can also be provided independently from the flexible vessels, thereby providing a gradually absorption of the vehicle impact energy. The barrier is moreover so constructed as to be easily located and recovered upon impact.
