Patents Assigned to SOCIAL COMMENTING, LLC
  • Patent number: 9170989
Abstract: A software system and method that allows web site operators to adapt web pages for posting of public and private user comments. An administrator accesses a web site to enter data for creating reader comment areas. HTML code for the reader comment areas is generated for insertion into web pages. When the web page containing the code is posted to a web site, the code results in a reader comment display page where web site visitors can comment on the content of the particular web page where the reader comment area appears. Comments are saved at a remote web site accessible to the administrator. The administrator may review and manage the reader comments. A reader who makes a comment on a web page has the option of creating a personal journal comprising all comments entered by the reader at any web page enabled according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20150278235
Abstract: A computerized system and method for flexibly parsing documents (including webpages, PDF files, Word documents, images etc.) to generate webpages with additional user interface elements (e.g. an identifier) enabling them to make comments on specific types of content. The website administrator selects the type of parsing (e.g. by lines, sentences, paragraphs, images, video) and where it will be applied on the webpage imported content (e.g. present pages, page range, entire document, selected text, etc.). The parsing code generates webpages that includes identifiers (e.g. line or sentence numbers) that when activated by a reader displays a comment area that enables them to add a comment specific to that identifier (line, sentence, etc.), which is then sent to a remote database file of comments made by multiple readers for the same identified content. The reader may also view via a link the comments of other readers for the same identifier.

  • Publication number: 20150143262
Abstract: A software system, method, application that allows television and cinema viewers to create, store, and display on remote websites comments pertaining to viewed content (e.g. programs, streaming movies, advertisements). The viewer utilizes an electronic computing device (e.g. smartphone, television with Internet connectivity, etc.) and comprising an application (e.g. mobile app, IVT app) to enter comments and transmit them to a third party database for storage and/or display on website(s) (e.g. social media). The applications display user interface elements allowing the viewer to identify the television content (i.e. title of show), and to receive comment data input, which is then transmitted to remote second servers for storage, and/or for display by the second servers on websites, and/or viewing in applications by other users, who may respond to the comments. The data from a plurality of end-user's comments may be statistically analyzed before distribution to third parties, such as marketing firms.

  • Publication number: 20150082342
Abstract: A software system and method allowing television and/or cinema viewers to create, store, and display comments pertaining to media content (e.g. programs, streaming movies, advertisements). Users with electronic computing devices comprising a web browser (e.g. smartphone, smart television, etc.) enter comments and transmit them to a third party database for storage and/or display on website(s) (e.g. social media). Webpages display user interface elements allowing the viewer to identify the television content (title of show), and to receive comment data input, which is then transmitted to remote second servers for storage, and/or for display on second websites. An administrator accesses a webpage of the first website server to enter data (e.g. HTML code) for creating user interface elements. When the webpage containing the code is posted to a website, the code results in a comment display page where users can input comments on television content and on posted comments.

  • Publication number: 20150033112
Abstract: A software system and method that allows website readers to create and store comments pertaining to website content, with tags identifying the comment, so that the comments may be easily retrieved at a later time. An administrator accesses a website to enter data (e.g. HTML code) for creating reader comment and tag. When the webpage containing the code is posted to a website, the code results in a reader comment and tag display page where website visitors can comment on the content of the website, and create one or more tags that identify their comment. Comments and tags are then saved at a local or remote website database accessible to the reader. A reader can find their comments that they posted on various websites stored within their database record by searching the database for comments with a particular tag. They can also assign new tags to their stored comments.
