Patents Assigned to Societa' Italiana per l'Esercizio Telefonico p.a.
  • Patent number: 4723240
Abstract: The unit is capable of synchronizing an incoming PCM frame with a PCM frame to be presented at the output, to ensure the sequencing of the channels belonging to a wide-band information flow. The flow can consist of a coded video-signal coming from a video-conference room. The synchronization is accomplished by suitable writing and reading operations effected in a random access memory (RAM) apt to store the information contents of two PCM frames. FIG. 2 is the most significant.

  • Patent number: 4713803
Abstract: A bidirectional digital transmission system with echo-cancellation allows the measurement of the received data signal and the automatic adaptation of the attenuator and of the line equalizer. They are implemented by using circuits already present in a conventional system, in addition to auxiliary circuits.

  • Patent number: 4706270
Abstract: The equipment consists of one or more voice units (U1 . . . Un) each connected to a certain number of independent lines (E1 . . . En) connected to a telephone network (RT). Each unit presents an announcement data base (AA1 . . . AAn) which contains all possible announcements to be supplied to the subscribers, a computer (EL1 . . . ELn) which manages the research of an announcement in the data base (AA1 . . . AAn) and its sending to the subscribers (UT1 . . . UTx) and an interface (IEC1 . . . IECn) towards the network (RT) for the temporary storage of the announcements or part of them before the sending, the processing of the telephone signalling, the possible conversion into analog form, and the equipment supervision.

  • Patent number: 4675885
Abstract: The digital circuit extracts synchronism signals from a serial flow of coded data according to a process which uses a phaselocked loop where the different level transitions of the signal received are separately considered and a phase is determined for each type, the latter being compared with a specific reference phase, established in the initialization step. The error signal obtained from the comparison is used for correcting synchronism signal frequency.

  • Patent number: 4533868
Abstract: In order to determine the overall phase and amplitude distortion undergone by signals sent over a transmission channel, a pulse sequence generated at one end of the transmission channel is received at its other end at a first and a second input of a measuring instrument including, downstream of a receiving stage connected to the second input, regenerating circuitry for producing replicas of the original pulses. The latter are fed, along with the received distorted pulses, to a phase and amplitude comparator working into a spectral analyzer which displays the spectral-density difference between a received pulse and a replica of the corresponding transmitted pulse. The second input of the instrument may be connected to the output side or to the input side of an equalizer which supplies the received pulses to the first input thereof and whose parameters are to be adjusted on the basis of the measurements made.

  • Patent number: 4498062
Abstract: A waveguide structure carrying microwaves with two mutually orthogonal planes of polarization and in two different frequency bands, transmitted and received by an associated antenna, comprises two orthomode transducers in the form of coaxial cylindrical guide members of different inner diameters, the smaller-diameter transducer terminating in a short-circuiting end wall while the larger-diameter transducer, adjoining same at an annular shoulder, extends to a feed horn confronting a reflector. Each transducer is formed with two elongate peripheral access slots, opening onto respective rectangular-section branches, which are longitudinally bisected by mutually perpendicular axial planes while being relatively offset in axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4399332
Abstract: A programmable unit for the recordal of traffic measurements in a telecommunication system comprises a processor which, in accordance with a stored program, cyclically scans a multiplicity of voltage sensors that are connected to incoming wires from respective signal sources such as wires of subscriber lines terminating at a central office or exchange. The sensors step down the incoming signal levels to a voltage range compatible with the operation of logical circuitry and are connected in sets of eight to respective inputs of a multiplexer whose eight-lead output multiple extends to a comparator receiving a variable threshold voltage from the processor via a digital/analog converter. The magnitude of this threshold voltage is individually determined by the program for each time slot in which a set of eight sensors is connected to the comparator; the latter delivers to the processor an eight-bit word or byte indicating the instant state of activity of the corresponding signal sources.

  • Patent number: 4199630
Abstract: A continuous paper strip is provided with a first plurality of transverse tear lines spaced apart from each other to divide the strip into a plurality of strip elements having a desired height. Each strip element is subdivided into a first and second part of different heights by a transverse folding line. The first part has a height "h+d", where "h" is the height of the invoice, bill or the like, and "d" is the width of the bands on which an adhesive is applied. The second part has a height "h+2d". Longitudinal slots are purchased at each side of the first part of each strip element each having a width equal to "d". On the main face of the strip and near the transverse folding line separating each strip element, an adhesive is applied on a band of a width substantially equal to "d", while at the opposite face of the strip and on the second part of each strip element an adhesive band is applied near the tear line.
