Patents Assigned to Societe Alsacienne D'Aluminium
  • Patent number: 6497336
Abstract: A lid for a container is openable by peeling. The lid includes a first layer adhered to a second layer (5) having, on its outer face, a sealing agent (6) enabling it to adhere to the container (1, 2). The first layer (3) has a cut-out portion (7) delimiting a gripping tab (8). In addition, the force of adherence between the first and second layers (3, 5) is greater than the force of adherence between the second layer (5) and the container (1, 2). Alternatively, the lid includes a third layer (13) adhered to the first layer (3) and having a hole (15) permitting access to the tab (8).

  • Patent number: 5779073
Abstract: A cap for the neck of a corked glass bottle constructed as a single piece by stamping a thin sheet of material having one or more layers. The sheet has at least one gas-impervious layer. The cap includes a planar portion, the lower surface of which contacts and remains unadhered to the upper surface of the neck. Depending from the periphery of the planar portion is an annular skirt. A heat-sensitive adhesive adheres the inner surface of the skirt to the annular outer surface of the neck upon heating. In a second embodiment, the adhesive layer covers the entire inner and lower surfaces of the cap. A disk is adhered to the inner surface to prevent the upper surface of the neck from contacting the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5709310
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for opening a receptacle having a peripheral rim on which a capsule is head sealed. The capsule includes a heat-sealable bottom layer and a metal top layer that adheres to the heat-sealable layer. Above the capsule, there is provided a tongue constituted by a metal sheet suitable for completely covering the metal layer of the capsule. The sheet is bonded to the metal layer in a lateral segment by a layer of adhesive material that adheres to the metal layer and to the metal sheet. The capsule is peeled off the receptacle by pulling the tongue upwards.

  • Patent number: 5235149
Abstract: A container for a product to be heated or cooked in an oven such as a microwave oven, whose lid comprises an upper sub-assembly (I) with a metal layer and a lower sub-assembly (II) comprising an upper heat reactivatable layer (4) affixed initially so as not to adhere against the metal layer (3) and a lower heat sealing layer (5) sealed against the peripheral flange (1). The heat reactivatable layer (4) and the heat sealing layer (5) are layers of a synthetic material which can be peeled respectively off the metal layer (3) and the peripheral flange (1). In addition the heat reactivatable layer (4) has, vertically in line with the peripheral flange (1) a peripheral portion (6) adhering to the metal layer (3) following heating thereof during sealing of the heat sealing layer (5) on the peripheral flange (1).

  • Patent number: 5145737
Abstract: The system for closure and subsequent opening of the sterilizable container is made up of a cover having its sealing layer which bonds to the cover where the sealing layer is made of a polymeric material such as high density polyethylene, polypropylene and polyester and the container, at the point where the cover is sealed to the container, is also made of the same polymeric material as the cover's sealing layer. Between 15 to 50% by weight of inert filler is used. The cover and container are joined by deep soldering so that the action of pulling the cover off of the container causes an internal breaking of the material containing the inert filler. An inert filler is incorporated into the sealing layer and can also be incorporated into the container where the cover and container are joined.

  • Patent number: 4919742
Abstract: The lid according to the invention is for closing, by thermosealing, a container having a thermoplastic material sealing zone (3) defined by an internal closed line and an external closed line, of the type comprising a closure material (5), a varnish (7) applied to one of the faces of the closure material and an added thermoplastic material layer (6) fixed separably to the closure material and covering at least a part of the varnish which is intended to face the sealing zone of the container to be closed, said lid being characterized in that the added layer (6) has a thickness of the order of 100 to 1000.mu. (10.sup.-4 to 10.sup.-3 m), its thickness being chosen so that the thermoplastic material forming it may, by locally melting during closure of the container by thermosealing, encapsulate the traces of product finding its way on to the sealing zone during filling of the container.

  • Patent number: 4636273
Abstract: A process for manufacturing covers intended to close containers which are opened by peeling off the cover, these covers being of a type comprising an orifice and two closure elements disposed on each side of the orifice which they close and in which they adhere to one another, characterized in that it consists:in forming a series of holes (3) intended to form the orifices of the covers in a strip (2);in applying to one of the faces of the perforated strip (2) a first continuous coating (4) intended to form one of the two closure elements, this first coating being separable at least partially from the strip (2) by peeling off;in applying to the other face of the perforated strip (2) a second continuous coating (5) so that it comes into contact with the parts of the first coating (4) which are defined by the holes (3) and adheres strongly to these parts as well as to the perforated strip (2), this second coating (5) being intended to form the other closure element; andin cutting out the multi-layer sheet (1) th
